The Fallacy of Faith

According to Merriam-Webster, deduction is defined as “the deriving of a conclusion by reasoning; specifically: inference in which the conclusion about particulars follows necessarily from general or universal premises.”

An example of deductive reasoning is as follows:

Premise 1: People cannot see in the dark.

Premise 2: It is dark in caves.

Conclusion: People can’t see in caves.

Tradition

I'm currently reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. I'm reading it for two reasons: one, I love her. She's a genius and I want to be just like her one day!** Two, there's a $10,000 scholarship essay to be gained from reading it. So far, there's nothing remotely burdensome about reading this book and so I'll actually enjoy writing the essay.
