Seventh Inning Stretch

Used to be "Take Me out To The Ballgame" was the song of choice sang during the seventh inning stretch at America's ballparks. Since 9/11 many have added or changed the song to "God Bless America." The lyrics seem to be somewhat hollow in light of that incident though. "Stand beside her and guide her" as the 727's crash into the WTC buildings. Human being reaches 834 miles per hour in freefall.

Felix Baumgartner broke several long standing records in what must of been an unbelievable adrenaline rush. I watched it live, actually tape delayed 20 seconds in case of a tragic end, and it was an amazing feat.

He's says he retiring from the spectacular jumps and will instead pilot a search and rescue helicopter.…

Popemobile

Why does one of the more powerful religious figures on the planet require a popemobile? That was a rhetorical question obviously. And it certainly has nothing to do with the fact that all popes are required to be old and decrepit before assuming that role and need help getting from their walker to inside the popemobile. Taliban claims responsibility for attempted murder of 14 year old Pakistani girl.

Yesterday the Taliban carried out a 'hit' on a 14 year old Pakistani girl who has been vocal and outspoken on the Internet and in her local community about the rights of women to seek & receive an education. She survived but is in critical condition after being wounded in the head and neck. The Taliban said her behavior is blasphemous and must not be tolerated. Someone needs to tell Barack that nice guys don't do well in debates.

I believe Obama lost the debate last night. Not by a lot as the Pubs would have you think. While the content of his answers struck a chord with me I believe his delivery was a little reticent. Instead of playing a game of horse in basketball with Mitt the next debate, I think he would be better served to don some mixed martial arts gloves.
