Richard Muller, Previously one of the scientists who was skeptical of climate change... changes his tune.

Just a few things I wanted to share. I find so many people I interact with about the effects of global warming say, "So you really believe all that bs? Frankly, yes! And now so does one of the scientists who previously said he was skeptical of the research that had been done and of the data others had found.

Eugene Robinson's column in today's Washington Post:…

Welcome to our Semi-Dark Age: The Darkness Strikes Back

I've begun a series of video-essays on YouTube titled "Welcome to our Semi-Dark Age". The first episode is now up (in three parts, due to time-length restrictions by YouTube) - hopefully, my skills at video recording/editing will improve as I make more videos. Similarly, my pronunciation of English words remains a work in progress ... In any case, I've embedded herein the three videos of this first episode of the series, titled…

Incredible Sentencing Speech by Advocate For Peaceful Uprising

This is pretty inspiring. I would highly recommend taking the time to read it.

Thank you for the opportunity to speak before the court.  When I first met Mr. Manross, the sentencing officer who prepared the presentence report, he explained that it was essentially his job to “get to know me.”  He said he had to get to know who I really was…

Will Al Gore return his Oscar and Nobel now that NASA has shown it's all bollocks?

Dear members of TA,

I have found some in this excellent website belong to another type of church: I call it "The Al Gore Church of Irate Gaia".

Well, guess what: I bring good tidings for the Gaia Atheists like me: peer-reviewed study which shows, based on a NASA new satellite data, that the amount of heat let off by the atmosphere into space is greater than the one assumed for all the fatalistic models which Al Gore (et al) shoved down our…

More on atheists and skeptics and AGW denialists

Found this very interesting blog post that differentiates skepticism/doubt from denialism:

http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2009/12/james_randi_anthropogenic_global_warming.php

The writer contends that the AGW denialist movement is "a most distinctly unskeptical movement." In the following quote, the writer distinguishes between skpetics…

Global Warming

I haven't been keeping up on it very much to be honest. I've been too busy with work, school and reading atheist books. :)

So someone out there with some more knowledge on the subject, could you point me in the right direction in weighing the controversy? Right now it seems there's more riding on the problem being real. I watched "The Great Global Warming Swindle" and I like how there's an opposing view point, but I'm not convinced that it's a hoax or anything like that and would… Continue

gleemed from the cosmos

honestly, i have no idea what to suppose about this issue of climate change. are we a significant contributor? is it cyclical? i've seen graphs showing that carbon levels cause global warming, and then i've been shown that the warming actually precedes the carbon rises.

climate change skepticism is said to be evil, though in other areas my skepticism is encouraged. who can i trust? who should i believe about climate change? al gore? john stossel? give me a break! somebody just tell the… Continue

Proposal to Save Humanity

By Dennis Renner

A solution to the water crisis would also solve the issues of global warming and our health care crisis in America. As strange as it may seem these three issues are intertwined and inseparable. As global warming accelerates the loss of our glaciers, our supplies of fresh water are reduced on a global scale. In this proposal we shall examine how the fresh water shortage, America’s health crisis, and global warming are all a result of human choices. There is no… Continue

Why religion will destroy the world

I’ve recently come to the conclusion that even if we didn’t have to worry about nuclear weapons in the hands on doomsday fanatics, the mix of 21st century technology with literal reading and uncompromising adherence to primitive text- will itself lead to the end of the world.

And here’s why:

One hundred years ago there were 1.5 billion people on the planet. People used to have as many children as possible not just because of the… Continue
