Born Innocent Until Proven Guilty

I realise that I have already discussed this in the forum are of the site, but I wanted to post something in a blog form giving my full thoughts on the issue

So the topic I want to address in this blog is the Christian concept of “We are all born sinners” (otherwise known as Original Sin). As a non-Christian I personally do not believe…

Agape Love

Growing up, I was taught about the kind of love God the Father has for his children; it was called "agape love." I understood it as the kind of love that allows a parent to forgive their children for wrongdoing, and the sort of love that allows God to forgive humankind for sin. It was something to take comfort in. The message that we had "fallen short" was pounded into my head, and God's love had to be extremely powerful to…

The good news?

http://brainhulklogicsmash.blogspot.com/2013/03/the-good-news.html

It never seems to fail... Whenever the door to door religion salesmen come knocking, I'm just not home. Unlike most that want to avoid them, I would actually like to explain the errors of their flawed arguments. Sadly, they either come when only my wife is home, or when we are both out. The latter was the case yesterday. We got back to…

Epic brand fail, or have we finally found the Atheist Beverage? LOL

I was looking at the logo of a well-known american beverage brand. Imagine you don't know ANYTHING about it; how would you read the brand?

Right! Sinkist (SIN-KISSED)... kissed by sin!

I have found my new favourite beverage. Christian drinkers,…

Do Moderate Christians Need an "Adam"?

Jesus and Adam  Previously, I discussed the idea that we can now definitively show that there was no single couple from which all of humanity descended, and discussed a few points made by ProfMTH, namely that Paul references Adam in same way he references Jesus. To me, this seemed a clear and inescapable contradiction to a foundational principle of Christianity, since Paul is obviously wrong in referencing Adam. Now this assertion faced…

Being raised christian with a rational mind

Ever since I was born my parents have always told me there was a god but no santa clause or tooth fairy. I didn't understand how they expected me to understand why god was invisible and never speaking up for himself. It was hard for me, but I believed with all my might and became what you'd call a hardcore christian. I feared for my soul and everyone else's and never wanted to be raptured because there was so much work to do with all these atheists and catholics.... Really funny now that I…

Pride cometh before a fall??--I don't think so.

Perhaps one of the most pernicious doctrines of the Christian faith the the belief that pride is somehow an iniquitous trait, when in fact, this is not the case at all. Christians have it all wrong.

When speaking to Christians on the subject of pride, they tell me that pride is probably the most dangerous of sins, and it is pride which keeps them from…

REPENT, SINNERS.

Hilarious! Read everything on the board he's wearing. It's most likely photoshopped, as people can't honestly be that----well they probably can. But it looks photoshopped.

But it's still pretty hilarious.

If you sin, animals don't love you.

My cats have been missing for over a month.
I am a pet person, my cats are my kids.

I was on a popular social site. Take a guess.
I mentioned to someone I was depressed because my cats were gone.

He kindly pointed out to me that, "If you accept Jesus as your lord and savior, your cats will come back. Your cats left you because you have sinned."

I wasn't sure what to think of that.

Social Incentives of Sin

Discover magazine just published an excellent article about brain activity and the seven deadly sins. Using MRIs and other scans, neuroscientists observed the “biology behind bad intentions.” Subjects were placed in situations designed to elicit feelings of lust, hunger, envy, and other… Continue

Release Everyone from Prison!

America has a real prison problem and I have the perfect solution. You might even say that it was divinely inspired… because I got the idea from the Bible. I think we should let everyone in the prisons go and I’ll take their place. I will serve a trillion year sentence so that everyone else can go free. I will sacrifice my freedom so that all who believe in me should be set free.

Did Original Sin Destroy The Environment?

According to the recent environmentalist book Pollution and the Death of Man, by theologian Francis Schaeffer, Adam's original sin was the first step in destroying the earths environment. An excerpt from a recent book review on an evangelical website says,

"This world is not the same as when God created it and said it was good. The sin of Adam changed the way nature functioned-the curse, the… Continue

Do Animals "Sin"?

lust gluttony

greed pride

sloth wrath

envy

If animals do not sin, then why is it considered sin when humans engage in these same behaviors? To say humans are somehow superior to animals is to commit the sin of pride.

If animals do sin, then they should be visited by the wrath of god and subject to proselytizing, and all dogs really do go to…
