Boycott The Scouts
It has long been common knowledge that Boy Scouts of America and the LGBT Community or indeed the Atheist Community don’t exactly see eye to eye.
The Boy Scouts of America is a large private youth organisation in the United States. I has very strict policies which prohibit atheists from membership in its…

What do you expect to get out of it?
Like all atheists living in a religious infested society. I run into the theistic mammal once in a while, and following in the footsteps of my hunter-gatherer ancestors; I aim to swiftly take them down, but with clever rhetoric and indisputable logic in lieu of brute force. However, with the passage of time I have started to be less abrasive on the zealot. Why? It is not because I feel remorse when I burst the delusional bubble in which they hold any hopes for an afterlife or moral high…

Christian Pilot Goes Nuts... another reason religious nutcases shouldn't fly planes?
No one knows what set him off. But apparently on March 27th Pilot Captian Clayton F. Osbon lost his head completely. Although most of his ranting was incoherent, a lot of it appeared to be religious in nature. The flight was supposed to be traveling from New York to Las Vegas. However, Captain Osbon stated in the middle of the flight '"we're not going to vegas' because of its 'sins' and used the radio to admonish air traffic controllers to 'be quiet." - Source: NY Times National Issue…

On Religious Faith
Of course, science is not the enemy of religious faith. Sanity is. (ichbindaswortistich)
Over the ages, all religious pretensions, regardless of the respective faith of which they may have originated, have been disproved beyond any reasonable doubt. The earth is not flat but a sphere. The earth revolves about the sun, not vice versa. The earth is not the centre of the universe but a tiny planet in only one of myriads…

Just Dropping In
I just wanted to drop in and say hello to everyone here. I was pretty involved with this site last year when I was an atheist (which lasted for about two years). I’m not here to attempt to convince anyone of anything. I just grew pretty fond of some of the cool people here. When I left the site, I started to miss some of you guys like Nelson, Heather, and so on. So, I came back, pretty much just to say that. Ha!
I sincerely hope the best for all you guys no matter what ideological…

A new email conversation I'm having with a YouTube acquaintance...

Is it worth our time trying to reason with the emotionally minded people that are religious?
By Philip Sober
I'm an atheist and have been out spoken about it and heard all the nonsense regarding that fact by the religious, such as, I'm a fundie atheist or atheism is my religion, etc... but lately I've questioned my own tactics. What i mean by that is this, as an atheist, I'm also fairly scientific minded, for an uneducated layman that is.
I've come to the rational belief, in the philosophy of…

How much do you know about religion?
A ran across a blog written by Benjamin Radford. According to a recent test conducted by "The Pew Forum" has shown that Atheists and Jews seem to know more about religion than others.
"The researchers polled nearly 3,500 Americans and asked them 32 basic questions about world religions, their texts, main figures, and tenets. Most respondents got about half the questions…

Religious Customer
I was at work yesterday when a customer approached me and asked, "have you ever saw one of these", then handed me this card before saying "god loves you" and walking away with a huge smile on his face like he accomplished something.
He handed these out to a few of my co-workers as…

Pew Poll: 10.3% of American Adults are Freethinkers

The U.S. Religious Landscape Survey
Here's the most comprehensive poll on religion in the U.S. I could find. Note that freethinkers, at 10.3%, represent more than twice the number of non-Christian religious adherents. The 10.3% number is derived by subtracting the 5.8%…
