"An Atheist Heaven"

I'm not sure how many of you have seen this before but I loved it. It gives a really compelling argument that I plan on using in my religion debates with my friends as soon as possible.

Out Of The Randomness

One argument that I tackled in an earlier post was the fine tuning argument. I thought about it for a while, and I thought of one of my interests: Astronomy. I realized that there are thousands of galaxies and millions of stars and planets out there. So are we really "fine tuned"? Why us and not any one of the other millions of planets? Why haven't we found life on other planets? For those of you who do not know much about cosmology or astronomy there is a certain Goldilocks zone that a…

Prayer As An Answer

For hundreds of years it has been thought that this world is a result of God. God made everything we see, hear, touch, etc. but is this really the case? In science, once a theory has been proposed it is tested in a way to try to disprove it. If it cannot be disproved, then it works. Does God work?

In an earlier post i took some religious claims and how science has refuted them. In a way I am simply continuing… Continue

Morality Without God

                                                          Morality Without God

Ten reasons why I would argue that my lack of a belief in a punishing God makes me a more moral person than someone who is religious. My moral choices aren’t made out of fear of eternal punishment. Just as I don’t have a reason to have “good” morals, I don’t have an excuse for bad ones, either.

1.) I don’t have a…

Hell Houses

I want to step away from Philosophical debates and the sort for a second and talk about something that I think is truly a detriment to modern society. As the title of this post indicates the subject of my post is about these places called Hell Houses.

Now these places depict graphic scenes of what they consider sins. They depict the torment in hell that the sinful suffer. Some of you may be asking yourselves what makes these places different from other horror productions or stage… Continue

Augustine and His Confessions

Anyone who has read Augustine's Confessions will know his views on God. One view that I have been thinking about is how God is unchanging. One thing God must not have, to fit this description (according to Augustine), is emotions. This is something that many Christians and Catholics would agree with. However, there is a problem because in the Bible there is evidence of God having emotions. Take the First of the Ten Commandments:

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any… Continue

A Philosophical View

I enjoy looking at a variety of views on both theism and atheism. One argument that has intrigued me is the problem of evil which goes something like this:

Premise 1.) If God exists, then there would be no evil (immoral actions) in the world.

Premise 2.) There is (are) evil (immoral actions) in the world.

Conclusion: God does not exist.

This is a strong argument in favor of Atheism, however many would try to attack the first premise which we shall call (1). I have been… Continue

A Day in the Sun

The Sun is a mass of fiery stone, a little larger than Greece. ~ Anaxagoras 434 BCE The Vengeance of God

Nahum 1:1 to 3:1

1:1 The burden of Nineveh and all of the associated imaginings in the mind of a guy named Nahum.

God is jealous. God is revengeful. God is furious. So then, we've established that God is jealous, revengeful, and furious. He is slow to anger…

OK, so this post is very long overdue. I have been struggling to keep up to my blogging duties due to the small matter of university exams. However, you will be pleased to know that they have finished, and so has my blogging hiatus. So, a welcome back is in order.

I Don't Mean to Offend, I Am Smart But...Help Me Out

I would like to post a conversation I just had on Google+. I understand how my statements may sound offensive but I see things as I see it. My opinion is not unheard of but I am not saying it is fact. However, my issue really isnt about what I said it is about the response it received from a guy who didn't like what I said but posted his opinions. I don't understand them and I was wondering if someone could explain what he means by his definition of consciousness and "objective…

Christians, Stop Using the "Well there were eyewitnesses" Defense

As I enter more and more into the debate world, there is a peculiar phenomena that I find when debating Christians. It is the belief that eyewitness testimony is at all reliable. Especially so when it comes to the divinity of Yeshua (Jesus). Unfortunately this is completely wrong when it comes to proving the bibles validity. There is no presupposition here. It's pure fact from study and research. Let's take a look at the account that Christians give when it comes to the Bibles historic content… Continue
