Should traffic cops pay be based on tickets?

From CNN:

It's a theory many drivers have held since their first speeding ticket, that citations are somehow connected to a special perk for the officer writing it.

Now, a memo among Atlanta police officers has reignited such suspicions.

"The mayor has designated traffic court and ticket revenue for future pay increases," Atlanta Police Union President Ken Allen…

Remember this guy? He's been a fairly regular troll poster around here, and over the last three years he's been actively threatening an increasing number atheists, sceptics and science writers.

 That second link…

Conservatism on the rise in Victoria

There is an alarming trend in Australia at the moment. While the world struggles with climate change and population, we here are experiencing a knee-jerk reaction to supposed ills that are befalling us, and the governments seem far too quick to react with their band-aid solutions. I am seeing more cases in the media every day of what can only be pandering to minorities and special interest groups, where minor problems are becoming issues big enough to change policy over. Case in point, here in… Continue

Young girl in Iran gets arrested and manhandled for wearing bad headscarf!

A young girl inside of Iran (this happened recently but I do not have exact date) was arrested for "bad hijab" or headscarf and was forced into the car and kicked by the cop as a sign of disrespect that she is "trash" in their minds. We can only hope that this poor sister was also not raped and we can only imagine worse...the brutal Islamic Republic of Terror…

I have no words, President Obama...

I'm so upset about this, and I don't see how any progressive, or supporter of liberty of any kind, can support President Obama, turn a blind eye to these policies yet call themselves politically aware. My article "Cult Politics" was published at OpEdNews.com about a week ago, and I will post that as well below, but read Glenn Greenwald's article, then listen to this poor kid and what happened to him.

No Second Chances - Why the Oscar Grant Killing is more horrifying for a non-believer

This piece was originally published on OpEdNews.com under the same title.

To borrow a line from John Lennon, "Imagine there's no heaven." Really, imagine it.

Now imagine you are Oscar Grant, lying on your stomach on the cold hard pavement of the subway platform. A knee, putting the weight of a two hundred pound man, descends on your neck like a wolverine's jaws, grinding… Continue

Women Constables Forced to Observe Religious Teaching

And so it begins in England, Female Constables have been issues headscarves to wear when entering a house of worship. The intent is to get along with Muslims. The attempt to get along seems to be a one way street and not a road that should be travelled. Story

The covering of heads is a sexist issue. The purpose is modesty. Women’s hair drives men so nuts… Continue
