Hope Lies on the Horizon - A New Generation Might Reverse the Increasing Theocratic Trend in the US

In a country that is becoming increasingly theocratic, there may be hope on the horizon. I am 22 years old, part of Generation Y, which has now been named "The Millennials" (because most of us have come of age - 18 years old - in the first decade of the new millennium.). The Millennials are defined as anyone who was born since 1982. Most Millennials are now in middle school, high school, college, or the young adult world. Most of us are not even married yet. We don't hold the reigns of power…

Fond of atheism

I always was that guy who had a lot of dreams and obsessions ,but usually those were not productive obsessions since because I was a muslim nearly everything I wanted to do was considered a bad thing by my parents and society ,but now since I am an atheist I feel much more free and honest about my desires the issue is just is after a while these obsessions faded I now like a lot of stuff ,but there is really nothing I want to do other than chill around with people and have smart and fun… Continue

My thoughts on the Rights of Transgendered people

In this society where the majority of the people are male or female transgendered people are ignored and their rights are not given any importance. In United States at child birth the surgeries are performed and gender assignment is done at birth without the person’s choice? People may like to adopt a dog or cat instead of adopting a transgendered kid? The world likes perfect things but in truth nothing in world is perfect. The transgendered people are forced to use the male or female…

The Hebrew Game of Numbers

Numerology is a form of divination or fortune telling. It is in league with astrology, although, maybe not as popular. But it was quite popular in the ancient world. The Hebrew people of ancient Israel apparently had their own form of Numerology.

Oh! Numerology is based on the idea that numbers have certain magical properties, some are blessed, some are curse, some tell your future or your personality, etc. [Perhaps the superstitous fear of the number 13 is related…

Defending The Faith, And Morality, Of NonBelievers

Check out the link at the bottom of this post to listen to the interview from Fresh Air today on NPR:

Humanism--the belief that ethics and morality can be vested in rationality, rather than a supernatural deity--might sound like a departure from faith communities and culture, but according to Greg Epstein, it doesn't have to be.

In his new book, Good Without God: What A Billion Nonreligious People Do Believe, Greg Epstein responds to challenges against humanism that spring… Continue

Scary YouTube Messages

So first off, apparently a group of Internet Christians have been trying to get people on YouTube to... well what they're trying to do is actually my first question. I don't know what their intent is. Some of my vidder friends (we all are the vidding community because we all make fanvideos - music videos using clips from our favorite movies and TV shows) said they had received similar messages in the past. I talk to many of these vidder friends of mine on twitter, so to share my extreme… Continue
