Another sign of something!!

Pope Squeaky Clean and some new recruits released two “doves of peace” in the Vatican and they got attacked by a seagull and a black crow. The audience should have prayed harder.…

Speech I gave about God

In my public speaking class, we were assigned to write a speech. The speech needed to use either facts or emotional appeal to persuade the audience. I wrote this in a very short amount of time. Haha... I got one slow clap by a nice girl in my class. A boy in the front row said he lost all respect for me. What do you guys think of it?

How irrelevant is a human life?

Hello all, I recently have just been to myself, and began to think deeply about life in its entirety.  This self-discussion has led to a small amount of depression. I feel as if religion puts value on human life, and yet at the same time, looks down on it, looking forward to the "afterlife". They say thou shall not kill, etc, all moralistic things in human nature.  Then they say, just follow your "god" and you'll have eternal love/happiness/etc in the afterlife.  My point is, I have come to…

Seemingly All Alone and On My Own (or A Heartfelt Lament)

I am surrounded by family, but feel like I'm all alone anyway. With the exception of my dad and myself, none of the rest of my family votes. They are not politically active at all. They support no causes, they do not stand up for their rights. I have put a link on my Facebook page with petitions for supporting the repeal of both DADT and DOMA and supporting the American Traveler Dignity Act, with messages on both that say "Please sign the petition and stand up for yourself and everyone else!"… Continue

The Hamza Tzortzis Delusion

This article is found in my website, Uncompromising Rhetoric

Prelude: Are Atheists reluctant to confront Islam?

As I was reading about professor Hawking blasting his way onto headline news online, I stumbled on a quite astonishing website of an Islamic fundamentalist, Hamza Tzortzis, known to his fellow…

A Sheep in Wolf's Clothing: The Illogical Atheism of S. E. Cupp

Recently, political commentator S. E. Cupp has been popping up on various media outlets in order to promote her new book, Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media's Attack on Christianity. (She has been discussed here,… Continue

The "We Say So" factor of Religions and Beliefs

I’m constantly amazed by the “flexibility” of “religion.”

If you’re a homosexual then certain charity or faith based charity medical will deny you medical help.

I’m sure “Christ” asked before he laid his hands on people what their sexual persuasion was.

And that “Gays” and “Lesbians” can’t go to heaven. I was under the impression that there was some guy with a book at the front of heaven that directed you where to go.

Silly… Continue

I did not become an atheist because of what others said, I simply was an atheist. What I found interesting is that when I actually did find the atheist community, many of the arguments I had formed for myself had been formed by others. Reading what other non-theists had written was like a trip down memory lane, for I had reached the same conclusions, independently, many years before I ever read other non-theists thoughts. Like many I have read, they thought they were the only ones, a… Continue

Oath of Enlistment

I re-enlisted this past Thursday (14May2009). I have been in the military for over 6 yrs now, so I know I had to have said the words before....I guess I didn't pay that much attention to the entire oath previously. Now it has just been eating away at me!! Everything was fine until the very last sentence "So help me God". I cringed at the thought of saying this, however, I was on a stage in front of my entire battery and chain-of-command. I paused briefly, glanced at my husband, and uttered the… Continue
