The good news?

It never seems to fail... Whenever the door to door religion salesmen come knocking, I'm just not home. Unlike most that want to avoid them, I would actually like to explain the errors of their flawed arguments. Sadly, they either come when only my wife is home, or when we are both out. The latter was the case yesterday. We got back to…

On August 9th in Wayne county of Missouri, (My home town). Missouri voters approved prayer issue. I voted against this, and at least I tried to do something good in my state. But the majority has spoken, but I remember something that Bill Maher once said: "Just because the majority out weights the minority, doesn't mean the minority is wrong. The majority once thought that the world was flat, but that didn't make them right." It's tough to do something right, when everyone else is against…

This is a piece, roughly translated it and edited to point out this part, of a news article that appeared in a newspaper in my country:
In an alarming number of suicides committed by youngsters between 9 and 16 in Dominican Republic one raises the eyebrows. As Jiménez Páez, director of the National Institute of Forensic Pathology puts it. Several of this happenings have struck him very hard, as the one of this 9 year old that kill himself after arriving home from an evangelical mass…

The Edifi (aka the godPad)
So it seems that the Christians have taken a new low now, by releasing their very own "Christian Tablet" they are calling The Edifi.
Get this the Edifi, is equipped with its own web browser with a "safe search" built into it. In order words, its their nifty little way to censor its users shamelessly in order to avoid too much…

oh the U.S Media
Ya know, I really should stop reading news articles from CNN and Fox. The comments made by Americans usually portray that "ignorant" stereotype we so like to give ourselves to the rest of the world.
I'm pretty sure a few of you guys have heard the story where a man, claiming to be a prophet, decapitated a women in a supermarket. The story from the U.k plainly states the man's mental state. Let's take a look at the…

A confusing bit of writing
I find it quite difficult to find a reliable news source that doesn't interject too much of their own biases into stories. As a result I tend to gravitate towards BBC news, as I find their coverage usually to be somewhat more middle of the road.
I was reading this article this morning:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13068133
For those who are of the TL;DR crowd…

A simple word change can make a difference.
Catching up on the local news today, I read about a teenager (18) who has been showing nude photos to under age people and allegedly also molested 2 others.
The first article -from a local CNN affiliate- I ran into said:
A Henderson teen is under arrest, charged with statutory rape, sexually battery and a probation violation. The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about 18-year-old Westley Aaron Williams, of Fletcher, showing nude pictures to…

Anti government protests in Croatia
Talk about blind leading the blind, people are outraged for a long time, but only now that people are revolting in Arab world people realized that they should finally say what they think, but in my opinion, to late, the politicians already stole everything they could and lost all the money, so what's the point?
Here are some news that I found in english about the protests:…

What I've learned from watching Fox News
A friend just posted this on FB and I thought I would share here.
Muslims are all terrorists, homosexuals are deviants, Planned Parenthood encourages child prostitution, Israel has never done anything wrong in history, NPR is the propaganda mouthpiece of George Soros, having an education is elitist, incarcerating a drugs addict for twenty years is the most effective form of treatment, Mr. Rogers ruined our generation because he made us feel loved, the only real Americans are…

What 'skeptics' really believe about vaccines, medicine, consciousness and the universe
I am on the mailing list of many, err, "interesting" websites; the crazier the site, the more likely that I am to sign up for email updates. How could anyone turn down a daily dose of hilarity delivered right to their inbox? This morning, I discovered a comedic gem lurking in my unread mail.Added by Shine on January 24, 2010 at 9:30am — 9 Comments
