Band:Talk Talk

Album : The colour of spring, 1986

Here is a song that alternates between obvious persecution of religion and sarcastic portrayal of childhood brainwashing...including the kid's choir.…

Are you kidding me with this...."Find God's match for you"

Does anyone else find this slogan for christianmingle.com unbelievably hypocritical.  When speaking to most fundamentalist Christians I have found that they will generally say that God will basically make everything happen.  God will provide everything for them no matter how great or small.  This dating site slogan is so repulsive to me that I felt I had to ignite a discussion about it.  It's just more of the same, say one thing and mean another all the time with some Christians.  Sometimes…

Another reason religion is a bad, bad, thing (like we needed another one)

Image being 15 years old, your parents have just sent you and your siblings to your aunt's house for christmas. Upon arrival, you are accused of being a sorcerer and tortured as such, and by christmas day, you have begged for the release and peace of death and are finally drowned.

I found the following link while browsing for my morning news: …

If religion has caused more death and destruction then anything else in the history of mankind, why do people still practice any form of religion.

Much of what people do is done in the name of God. Irishmen blow each other up in his name. Arabs blow themselves up in his name. Imams and ayatollahs oppress women in his name. Celibate popes and priests mess up people's sex lives, and allow the molestation of young boys in their churches, in his name. The achievements of religion in past history has only been bloody crusades, torturing inquisitions, mass-murdering conquistadors, culture-destroying missionaries, repression of women and… Continue

The Bible is NOT Fiction- some thoughts

I like the idea that this article is trying to get across. i think it would have more power if the Iliad replaced the Odyssey as the comparative tool though.  The main thrust of the article is a very good point about historical value and have thought this to be a fascinating concept. And although the odyssey gave some insight into the thought process or psyche of early bronze age people, I don't think it as historically valuable as the Iliad.

One reason for this - Arthur Schliemann…

Polytheistic Christianity

Due to the changing of forums, I have moved this post to my blog, at the request of mods.

Although Christians will vehemently deny it, they are actually polytheists. The claim of "multiple gods in one" is actually found in the widely recognized polytheistc religion of Hinduism.…

Why?(and what?)

Why is there a God?

There a billions of stars in a galaxy and millions of galaxies in the universe. Many of these stars aren't even medium yellow like our sun. The odds of a planet forming to Earth-like standards are actually microscopic, even if other planet types can form the basics of life. Our planet is one tiny speck in a vast universe. I would almost call it insignificant.

What makes you think we're the center of some grand cosmic scheme of some importance?

If God is so… Continue

The Age of 'Theists' is Over!

Theism (As per Dictonary.com) is “the belief in one God as the creator and ruler of the universe, without rejection of revelation”. Those who follow this age old belief are, as I call them, 'Theists'. What good has 'Theists' offered to the world? Well, they have offered only destruction to this world. They have killed MILLIONS over petty, 'Religious Wars'. They stoop to under-handed attempts to block out any thought that goes against anything they say, under their false banner of… Continue

Cold is the Absence of Heat, Evil is the Absence of God

Another one of these? How many do we really have to suffer through/debunk before people start listening to facts?

Rather than type it all out (again), I made a video response. Since I can’t use plain logic to level with these people, I had to try and turn their own logic back on them. Tell me how you think it panned… Continue

Christianity and the Bible are scientifically proven... don't you know that?

The following conversation is real. It was held with an acquaintance of mine via Facebook. I'm Jared. I decided to leave her spelling errors for effect. Also, I now realize that it's 42 virgins, not 7, but the point was made.

First post; glad to be here.

I am so glad I found this community; so glad I have joined.

Already I am seeing other like minded people on this website that think just like me; yep we atheists actually use our brain for thinking unlike non-atheists who just go along with what the church tells them.

I am so sick of religious bullshit going on in the world; we need to not ban religion but take religion out of governments, schools and other places where they can be harmful to the human… Continue
