The irony of community prejudice.

I don't know why, but reading about Constance McMillian and the prom being cancelled by her high school because she wanted to wear a tuxedo to accompany her female date, reminded me of an incident several years ago. I worked for a transitional home for the chronically mentally ill, and we were having to find a new residence.

What 'skeptics' really believe about vaccines, medicine, consciousness and the universe

I am on the mailing list of many, err, "interesting" websites; the crazier the site, the more likely that I am to sign up for email updates. How could anyone turn down a daily dose of hilarity delivered right to their inbox? This morning, I discovered a comedic gem lurking in my unread mail.

Obits

I came across these two obituaries in the local newspaper today:

"Uncle Jack" age 94, traveled many miles during his career and lifetime. On December 8, 2009 he took his final "road trip" and is now in heaven playing baseball with his friends.

"Auntie Gay Nell" moved into a new home and embarked on a new adventure December 7, 2009. She was joyfully received there by her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ and her mother and father.

Irony of Me

I am now currently having my on-the-job-training in a catholic TV channel owned and being run by the archdiocese of Manila. I dunno why I got there. Hmmn, maybe it’s someone’s will? Ahaha! Of all the television production company we have here, I ended up in a ‘holy’ station.

TV Maria is the local counterpart of EWTN here in the Philippines. It was under Caritas Manila and is being managed by the archdiocese of Manila.
