Speech I gave about God

In my public speaking class, we were assigned to write a speech. The speech needed to use either facts or emotional appeal to persuade the audience. I wrote this in a very short amount of time. Haha... I got one slow clap by a nice girl in my class. A boy in the front row said he lost all respect for me. What do you guys think of it?

Religion is the ultimate security blanket, and it isn't even fuzzy.

Forgive my writing style. I don't plan my blogs, and I've only ever written two.

The most recent trend in my religious rants seems to be the comfort of it. The idea that you're "never alone" and you don't actually die. Preposterous. Juvenile. Fucking scary that educated adults buy into this crap to avoid nightmares and homesickness.

Starting with the most parroted piece of bullshit in Christianity: You Are Never Alone.
