The Tyranny Vs the Humans of LGBT
Hello world, I am Réasúnach! As you can well see I have called this blog “The Tyranny vs the Humans of LGBT”. The tyranny is indeed in reference to the majority of mainstream religions practiced on this planet to this day, mainly Christianity & Islam.
I quite very purposely use the phrase “the humans of the LGBT”. Too often are the LGBT treated as less than human or second class citizens, which by the way there is no justification. I recall once coming across an…

On Religious Faith
Of course, science is not the enemy of religious faith. Sanity is. (ichbindaswortistich)
Over the ages, all religious pretensions, regardless of the respective faith of which they may have originated, have been disproved beyond any reasonable doubt. The earth is not flat but a sphere. The earth revolves about the sun, not vice versa. The earth is not the centre of the universe but a tiny planet in only one of myriads…

It has taken nearly ten years, but the real story of Iran’s direct, material involvement in the 9/11 conspiracy is finally coming to light. And it’s being…

Human-centric thought bothers me. Flipping through National Geographic (June 2011) I came across a brilliant piece on China's rapid, energy hungry growth and the steps many private and governmental organizations are taking to limit its environmental impact. China has relied on coal powered plants for a long time and it shows. With estimates nearly doubling the amount of power China will need to fuel itself over the coming decade, green energy is going to be very important. But the article…

Damon Fowler- An Atheist Hero
Damon Fowler, a high school senior at Bastrop High School in Louisiana, is being called an Atheist Hero in many forums and blogs this morning. Damon called for his school not to use a Christian prayer during their graduation ceremony, citing Louisiana law. Due to a threat of the ACLU, the school district decided to remove the prayer from their graduation program...but things only got worse for Damon. He has received death threats from other students, been slandered by his teacher, and has…

Ghosts? Probably Not...
I'm currently reading "The Mothman Prophesies" by John A. Keel. [I know... you can laugh at me]. I chose to read it because despite my being an atheist who is an extreme skeptic of anything supernatural... I haven't lost my taste for a good spooky tale. Being the thrill-chaser that I am, I enjoy all sorts of things that give a good scare... horror movies, rollar coasters, ghost stories, urban legends... and [as I apparently found out last Monday] scaling the side of a 15-foot [~4.6 m] rocky…

Life, the universe, and everything
As an opener I'd like to state that my worldview has absolutely nothing to do with my atheism. I like to think that were I a theist I would still hold life, the universe, and everything in exactly the same regards. This post is not intended to answer any questions about nor explain my view on theism. Correlation does not imply causation. That being said, let us proceed.
Where did we…

HEy all
Its been awhile since i blogged here but i had some thoughts on my head.
I think that religion (animism, poly, then monotheism) is so embedded in human history that its purpose was to articulate the chaos that makes up the natural world and also explains the suffering and frustration afflicted by human inhabitants. In other words, religion provided a method for the worlds madness.
Now here's my question do you think that if we had world peace,…
