Homophobic Coworkers Trolling--To Get Me To Come Out

Gah, this is so jacked up. I don't know what to do. I need some advice guys, because I can't loose this job too. I haven't been on here in a while because I've been pretty wrapped up in finding a decent job, but I hope some of the regulars are still around with their usual wit and wisdom. This blog post is going to be a rant, but please give it a look-see.

My new coworkers are obsessed with the sexuality of the guy I just replaced and they've been talking about 'how it totall…

Catholic Church Don't Want Gay Customers

So we have yet again some more hypocrisy and arrogance from the Catholic Church.  The Catholic Church are apparently selling a mansion previously owned by a pedophile. But it seems that the Catholic church is still far too lacking in humbleness, still too arrogant, still to self righteous and still to hypocritical to be willing to seek the property of a gay couple.

Oh they have no problem protecting…

The Evolutionary Purpose of Male Homosexuality

A recent show on the science channel alerted me to an interesting new hypothesis about the evolution of homosexuality. Contrary to popular thought, it does not appear to be an accident. (If anyone can find documentation about this new hypothesis... let me know). Particularly interesting is the behavior of primate males in family groups. As is well known, apes (such as chimanzees, bonobos, and gorillas) that live in family groups consist of many females, one dominant male that gets exclusive…

Minnesota Archbishop: Opposing Marriage Equality Is Not Anti-GayMinnesota Archbishop: Opposing Marriage Equality Is Not Anti-Gay

Via ThinkProgress:

Archbishop John C. Nienstedt: “The Minnesota Catholic Conference, made up of the seven Catholic bishops from the state, support this amendment not for prejudicial or political reasons, but rather for reasons that are theological, biological and pastoral.”

(Original news item.)

Lets assume for a second that the…

Taco Bell Showdown!

Okay, maybe not a showdown, persay, but still awesome...

I went to Taco Bell today because I was hungry and wanted to try the new XXL Chalupa (for the record, it is fucking awesome).

Anyways, it was pretty busy. The store itself was pretty full (I was getting my food to go, though, so I wasn't looking for a seat). Luckily, there was only one guy in front of me. There was a 6-person family in front of him, but they had already started ordering when I got in line. 4 other people… Continue

How and why a theist friend of mine believes what she does

So... this is Elena's life story. Lol. Or so she says. Spanish is her native language so some of it is hard to understand because her English isn't quite perfect. We're online friends, we talk on twitter and on YouTube... we're both fanvideo makers which is how we "met". Natalia is my online friend and Elena's online friend too, all 3 of us are friends... ;) Natalia just posted this fanvideo, which had to do with atheism, last night:… Continue

Some of my best friends are christians

Lately, I've noticed something. I occasionally come across people on twitter making homophobic comments. Of course, these people all tend to be on the nuttier side of christianity. No surprise there. And, of course, I often call them out on it using a sprinkling of profanity, blasphemy, and personal insults. What can I say? It is my way.

Now, most of these people block me, but a few of them actually try to defend their nasty… Continue

Why I'm wary of "coming out" to my family

I came across a comment by Eoganachta Mor on my last blog post that brought up some similar thoughts of my own. The original comment was as follows:

The irony is that people talk about 'coming out as an atheist' like they do with homosexuals admitting their nature to their parents and friends. It's like there is some great problem with these things. I cannot understand why people…

Why is homosexuality considered immoral?

You’ve heard it before, didn’t you? Homosexuality is considered immoral, awful and the biggest sin ever. All gay people are instantaneously condemned to hell. News of violence towards gays is seen every day and homophobia is almost a job description for some people. California prohibited future same-sex marriages and only nine countries on this planet allow them at all. And if that is not enough, we often hear that homosexuality is a disease…

I support gay people. Why would they be… Continue
