FB Atheism
It's a common theme among those with faith. They say something that just makes you go 'Wait...what?'. I'm sure most of you have seen the video in these pictures. (if not, look it up, it's fantastic). My friend posted it on FB and I watched it and I noticed that a friend of hers had commented below. I responded in kind. It's a bit to read, but it was a civil conversation, if not a bit strained on my end.

Religious infection
Everywhere I turn, everywhere I go people are talking about god. Even my family is plagued by this nonsense. I use to live in California, and I've never had a problem wiht people praying before meals for the occasional "Bless you" because...It was occasional! Ever since I moved to Minnesota I hear and see it everywhere. My sister in-law, who I thought for a long time was a very nice woman now quotes verses on Facebook, and snidely states "I didn't come from a monkey". Which at first made me…

How we get the labeled "angry atheists"
Sometimes, people get heated during a conversation. It could be about [the nonexistence] of god, abortion, eugenics, universal healthcare, or any other controversial subject but things can't turn sour at any given moment...
Last night, I was contacted by my best friend [who is Christian] who pointed me in the direction of a facebook conversation that had been taking place. Two of the people who were involved were friends of mine (we will call them J & N -N being a…

Thoughts from an atheist
Do you feel yourself holding back in a conversation because you don't want to sound overly 'smart' or offending the opposing side? I sometimes find myself doing so. Sometimes, I have to watch my language because, let's face it, some people 'don't know them big words.' I also find myself holding back because I don't want to upset anyone or make anyone feel as if I'm picking on them. I see myself doing this all the time...
A friend of mine asked for facebook prayers [I have…

More Facebook Theist Drama

Oh no! don't abort your baby! [facebook rambling]
Ok, so first of all this was posted by a dear friend of mine, who just so happens to be uber Christian. A few years back, she had a lot of problems getting pregnant and once she did, she miscarried. It was a very sad time for her and her family and I feel bad for any couple who has to go through this...but...after extensive medical treatments and what not, "god" blessed her with 2 beautiful twin girls. Now, this is just one thing I don't have the guts to call her out on...[mainly because she…

Right, so... someone posted about their buddies being 'deeply hurt' about all the antitheist posts he was making on Facebook. Like Catholic Priests aren't FB fodder enough? :)
So hey man..I can't find your thread cus I'm reaaaaaaaalllly drunk right now, but I wanted to share this with you:
I've been 'out of the closet' to all of my friends and most of my relatives for like three years now. For the most part, the dust has settled and we are all begrudgingly on speaking terms…

OK....So Now I get Threatened on facebook by a Muslim..
I have made my views known on facebook and have regular discussions with others that are willing to engage whether they are my friends and people I know, and I have lost a couple of "friends" on there but that does not deter me one bit...it is vital to get the message across....so I come up checking my email earlier and I get this facebook notification of a comment from one of my discussions:
"Mohamad Tiar wrote: "Sassan you Faggot, Pussy Mother…

Funny Happenings on FB..
I saw this today on my Facebook's homepage. Although the situation may not be funny, what my "ghetto" cousin said makes it so. Also, I edited the first part of the page. The OP had mentioned his full name, address, and everything. Since I couldn't find anything in the news about it, I decided to not disclose his personal information.…

My personal opinion on it...

What's a day without Facebook drama?
Wow, I guess I haven't made it as "known" as I thought. I need to redo my whole profile on FB to exclaim my atheism. I'm getting really tired of having to deal with this constantly.
My aunt and her son (my cousin) are going through an extremely rough time in their lives. My cousin has been wrongly accused of child molestation. I've reviewed all the information I have been given and I have came to the conclusion that he really is being wrongly accused. (The…

It makes me want to scream!
These are some really sweet people and some of them, I have known for a long time. It just makes me want to shake them and scream, "WAKE UP! It's has all been a lie!" I'm hesitant though because these are the type of people that their faith runs so deep, any deviance will send them crying and praying. I really wish that they would put this passion toward something productive for our society, instead of just wishful thinking.. which is what I'm doing too, when I say…

'A' Week
Atheist Week on Facebook.
Just thought that I'd share this with you guys.
http://www.aweek.biz/index.html
Upload the 'A' image to Facebook and set it to be your profile photo for the week. As the 'A' appears all across Facebook keep it 'Good without God' and enjoy being part of the experience! 'A' Week is not about being disrespectful to religion or people who have religious views, it's about…

In The Beginning Was The Herd...
Toda
y, my kid started in a new class room. He is nearing 3 years old in February and already he is ready to move to another class. Now if he can learn to dress and undress himself (besides fully achieving “pottiness”) like the other children he will be on his way. I was so worried about how to teach him to do certain things mainly the basics such as manners, dressing, socializing, but I'm discovering he is learning from the herd. Ah, yes, learning from the herd. The herd comes by any…

Face(book) to Face(book) Conversation - LONGEST POST EVER!
I was requested to post it, so why not? Here is the entire transcript from the facebook conversation I had with "the faithful" as was mentioned in my previous article. For anonymity I've chosen to use just first names for each person, if two people share the same first name I'll indicate with the name followed by 1 and 2.
========Disclaimer==========
This conversation is still ongoing and contains 98 posts as of right now, some are quite lengthy. Where I…
