Church of England Attempt to Punish Priest over Same Sex Marriage

I'm not sure you are all aware of this, but the UK recently legalised same sex marriage and good for them.

But of course the religious organisations are usually the main groups that always have an objection to equal marriage rights. Except this time they are turning on one other own. The first Church of England priest has married his same sex partner and suffice…

Reclaim the Name: Atheist and Proud

A large majority of atheists I know in the US refuse to refer to themselves as atheist, only because of the social stigma attached to the word and I feel this is a shame; it's a valid point, but still a shame.

We are often subject to such unfair generalizations as being without morals, selfish and even evil, and are discriminated against in many parts of the US.

People are afraid to "come out" for fear losing their job, or if they own a business they fear great losses in…

"The Christian National Registry of Atheists."

Pastor Michael Stahl thinks that atheists should be registered in "The Christian National Registry of Atheists."  He wants your name and photo to be listed, so Christian folk like him can find out if they're living next to atheists. "I mean, think about it.  There are already National Registrys [sic] for convicted sex offenders, ex-convicts, terrorist cells, hate groups like the KKK, skinheads, radical Islamists, etc.."*…

Is God The New Gay Icon?

Earlier today, I discussed the topic of LGBT individuals turning to religion for all the wrong reasons. I expressed how such behavior is absurd and unjustified, and explained how it actually hurts the gay fights for equal rights!

As a gay and atheist person, I would like to ask you for opinion.

I fear for our progress as Americans.

I fear for our progress as Americans. Even though we believe that once a civil right's victory has been accomplished we will never look back, the sad truth of it is that countries can devolve.

Look at Iran. True, it was never exactly a shinning beacon of hope and equality for anyone, but before their revolution, there were a lot more clits around.

I'm not even kidding.

Sexual mutilation INCREASED after the people "got their voice." So did the average beard length, the…

Why I'm wary of "coming out" to my family

I came across a comment by Eoganachta Mor on my last blog post that brought up some similar thoughts of my own. The original comment was as follows:

The irony is that people talk about 'coming out as an atheist' like they do with homosexuals admitting their nature to their parents and friends. It's like there is some great problem with these things. I cannot understand why people…

God's Elite: A Poem about Hate and Intolerance.

Also a journal I wrote in 2007 for Creative writing class. (See my other blog of this nature: Udile's Story).

The Bane of Mankind

Hate is truly a terrible thing. I would compare it to a disease. Once an individual has been infected, the hate will gain power and slowly corrupt their mind until their incapable of unconditional love and are blind to justice, happiness, peace, and the truth. It is also contagious, spreading with the vile efficiency of the Black Death. I call… Continue

The Evangelical Quest To Turn Our Soldiers Into Crusaders

Seeing this issue come up on Real Time with Bill Maher last Friday first sparked my interest. It sparked it enough that I decided to go on a hunt for more information to see just how deep the rabbit hole goes, so to speak. Sad to say, it goes tremendously deep indeed and I thank Bill for calling this to people's attention. It is indeed a shocking situation and if you haven't paid it any attention before, I suggest you start now for this may pose the biggest threat to our national security and… Continue
