The Letter

I'm getting ready to "come out" to my family and church. I've written a letter to send to the church or any family member in the event that I cannot personally talk with them for fear of my own safety. Catholic Defection

Well, this weekend is my nephews Baptism (which I refuse to attend on principal) and it reminded me of how I defected from the Catholic Church a few month ago. You see, I was raised Catholic and while I know that Baptism is a meaningless ceremony, I also disliked that having my name listed in the Baptismal records still counted me as a member. British Man Officially Unbaptized

At eleven years old, John Hunt refused to attend church because he no longer believed in god. Forty-five years later now Doctor John Hunt told the church he wanted his baptism record removed because as a baby, he could not consent.
