"Scared? Fear the Maker" - Outreach Media

There's one thing I can never understand, and it's the perceived dichotomy between the "all-loving God" and the "vengeful God". Apparently God is to be feared, because he is all-powerful and could exact all sorts of damages upon us and our souls if he so chose to. But on the other hand he loves us with a more pure and generous love than anything else can offer. It doesn't sound like a very nice relationship to enter into willingly.

Being raised christian with a rational mind

Ever since I was born my parents have always told me there was a god but no santa clause or tooth fairy. I didn't understand how they expected me to understand why god was invisible and never speaking up for himself. It was hard for me, but I believed with all my might and became what you'd call a hardcore christian. We Control God?

I am going to outline an idea that I'm sure is not original. But, I want to bring it up to see if there are any new perspectives and for those who may not have considered it.
