A Belated Eulogy For A Timely Death

This morning, we buried a true son of Paskaloochee. His name was (is?) Earnest Hetman, but everyone knew him as Het. Everyone loved him as well, which explains why a particular incident of primary importance to the latter half of his life was curiously unmentioned by his official eulogizers. As expected, each in their turn – Het’s friends, two sons, and sole surviving sister – merely regaled us with the little, endearing moments that supposedly defined him.

"Thank God," our soldiers managed to do everything without his help.

Alright, so today my dad finally got back from his deployment in Afghanistan and I drove to this gym where there was a ceremony to welcome them back. It was kinda cool; there was a live band that played the national anthem and the army song, and there was some free coffee which is always a plus.

All about Mormons

For those of you who saw the South Park episode All About Mormons, you know how interesting the Mormon church can be. I’ve also read Jon Krakauer’s non-fiction book about extreme Mormonism, Under the Banner of Heaven, and more recently, been watching the HBO series Big Love. That show is so great.
