Catholic Church Don't Want Gay Customers

So we have yet again some more hypocrisy and arrogance from the Catholic Church.  The Catholic Church are apparently selling a mansion previously owned by a pedophile. But it seems that the Catholic church is still far too lacking in humbleness, still too arrogant, still to self righteous and still to hypocritical to be willing to seek the property of a gay couple.

Oh they have no problem protecting…

The Tyranny Vs the Humans of LGBT

Hello world, I am Réasúnach! As you can well see I have called this blog “The Tyranny vs the Humans of LGBT”. The tyranny is indeed in reference to the majority of mainstream religions practiced on this planet to this day, mainly Christianity & Islam.

I quite very purposely use the phrase “the humans of the LGBT”. Too often are the LGBT treated as less than human or second class citizens, which by the way there is no justification. I recall once coming across an…

Dan Savage called out by NOM's Brian Brown for a debate; Savage says, "You're on, motherfucker!"

For those who may not have heard of him, Dan Savage is a gay rights activist - and an outspoken atheist. He engages in many talks around the country, and in the media, concerning gay rights; and since the fight against gays is almost always religious in nature, he tends to call out the contradictions and overall hostility within the Bible.

There's a pretty popular video of him speaking at a high school journalism convention the overall speech is about bullying, and gay bashing in…

On Your Way To Heaven

Religion would have been a more tolerable concept had it promised its adepts a place in heaven for doing good in the course of their existence. Instead, it somehow managed to convince them that their salvation is directly linked to the amount of involvement they maintain in other people's lives. As surprising as it may sound, it has become perfectly normal for some to…

What Has and Has NOT Changed? (The New and Not-So-New Normal of Marriage Equality)

Near the end of the first act of Kander and Ebb’s musical “Cabaret”, the character Herr Schultz observes, “How the world can change, it can change like that, due to one little word:  ‘Married.’”  Just a little over two weeks ago, on June 24, 2011, it seemed as if the world had changed “like that.”  The State of New York extended the legal right to marry to same-sex couples—something it had declined to…

Bullying in schools - Jesus Needs New PR

A Facebook friend just posted this article from the theist website 'Jesus Needs New PR' to her wall, and I thought it was worth reposting here. In my opinion it's an incredibly well-written, powerful, piece.

The core of it:

All across this country, every single day, students who identify as GLBT are experiencing hate, being bullied, getting teased, or being treated… Continue

Maine, Marriage Equality, and Lessons

Several friends and a number of my YouTube subscribers have asked me to weigh in on the electoral success of Proposition 1 in Maine, which repealed a statute enacted by the Maine legislature and signed into law by its governor that extended the legal right to marry to same-sex couples in the state. 53% voted to repeal the statute, 47% voted to retain it – a result similar to the 2008 vote for Proposition 8 in California (52% in favor, 48% against), but well short of the trouncing same-sex… Continue

Repealing the Defense of Marriage Act

Yesterday, Jerry Nadler (D-New York) released information on his proposal for the Respect for Marriage Act, which will repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). This is potentially very huge since DOMA is a religiously motivated, constitutional violation, of basic human rights.

Nadler, Baldwin and Polis Introduce the Respect for Marriage Act to Repeal the Defense of… Continue

Warren Lies About Prop 8 Support

I'm a little short on time, plus this one is pretty good as-is; so I'll be lazy and just paste it in.

By Karen at Bligbi.com.

Rick Warren must still be smarting from the outrage Obama provoked when he chose the despicable jackass to speak at his inauguration as he is still lying about his support for prop 8.…
