Archaeologists working in Turkey believe they have found the missing foreskin of Jesus Christ. While excavating an ancient church known as Beggars Corner, an eighth century building in Sinop, Turkey, they discovered an alabaster-box containing a perfectly preserved bit of flesh, wrapped in goat skin which had been treated with oil of spikenard.…Continue
Dead man’s Switch
i had a dollar in my pocket
at least, i did before i spent it
on some trinket or some locket
that now is lost and i resent it
there is nothing quite as gone
as a dollar when it’s spent
nothing leaves you as alone
wondering where the dollar went
a dollar anticipated
is a great treasure for a man
but a dollar dissipated
grates on your soul like sand
to owe a dollar to another
is a dollar spent on guilt

A Jesus portrait that has hung in a southern Ohio school district since 1947 was taken down Wednesday, because of concerns about the potential costs of a federal lawsuit against its display.

Hey good people, here, I have been having a discussion with an anon gentleman going by the moniker j.w who I think lives on this side of the blue ball.
The discussion, so far has covered several issues among them how the universe came to be, historicity of Jesus, a bit on god and a major part has been on evolution and it is here that I need some help. I have in my responses tried to explain evolution as I…Continue
so i went to this christian camp ( i wanted to go to see if i could find god) and what they taught is that having religion is not the most important thing what matters is that the christian has a personal relationship with god. and they said that you feel god presence and his (god) love, when they had worship time. but all i saw was crazy people screaming JESUS!!!!!!! and that crap. so my question is what is so wrong with having an imaginary friend that can make people feel like they have…Continue

I wrote this silly song about people who have religious tattoos. It's fairly non-denominational, but I think the secular community is the real audience!
Pardon the sour notes & be sure to stay until the plagal cadence at the very end!
Hope you enjoy!
edit: I guess HTML is no good?

I had the thought today that the bible verse John 14:13 - "And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son"(Jesus) would be a great way to stump a Christian. Tell them that they should ask Jesus to convert you right then and there. Although I don't expect any sort of logical response, it begs the question why a believer can't get Jesus to perform a fundamental act of Christianity for someone who is trying to spread the "good…Continue

So , We all have heard the story of Jesus,I think i think on the other hand theres a more likely story. I dont think "Virgin" Mary was a virgin at all she had sex out of wedlock in horror of the punishment she made up a fake story about an angel visting her and saying she had been inpregnated by god. Jesus on the other hand was born into this lie. He made his own reilgon called Christainty. I think if 'Virgin" Mary had fess up to having sex out of wedlock and she was carryin an addciently…Continue

Based on certain biblical passages, such as Revelation 19:11 among others, which says "Jesus Christ is the mighty warrior", the course was taught to U.S soldiers. Soldiers had to sit through a PowerPoint session of "Fundamentalist love for the apocalypse."

The Christian bible never tells anyone what happened to Jesus from when he was a kid to when the story picks back up at 33. So I have taken the liberty to making up a timeline of the missing years of Jesus. Enjoy!
The Missing Years of Jesus
We all know Jesus loves toast and the rear ends of dogs but now it's official...

Here is an article talking about some vines that grew on an utility pole. Apparently it looks like Jesus!

Back in 1999 I found myself out of a job with time on my hands. To amuse myself and, perhaps, contact others with my condition (Sleep Associated Altered States of Consciousness...night terrors, OBEs in the popular vernacular. I had been troubled with these experiences for years but I stubbornly continued to believe that I was a competent judge of my own experiences. Ten years before I had decided that, rather than fight against these things, I would go along with…Continue

I often refer to Jesus as a quasi-historical figure, a statement which drives the Christians I know into fits of apoplexy. Jerry the Evangelical Neighbor likes to fall back on the most tired of all the basic refutations.
“There is less proof for the existence of Socrates or Plato than of Jesus.” He once responded to a Facebook post of mine.
I don’t know that to necessarily be a fact. I rather doubt he does either. At least I was a philosophy major in college;…Continue
