Is He guilty?

Monotheistic religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, etc.) claim that a powerful omnipotent, omniscient God created us, our planet, the universe, and everything that exists.

Even while knowing the pain and suffering that would arise form His actions, He acted. He knew that His actions would result in every death, murder, abortion, war, torture, rape, genocide, abuse, deformity, malice, pain, suffering, and dare I say, sin for all of eternity.

If He had the… Continue

Have You Been Saved?

“God lets thousands of people die in an earthquake, but he helps them win bike races?” Laura said in her best, her very best and cutting sarcastic voice that ended the conversation for then and forever, and made the Tour de France winner look like a fool. God did not exist. Which is really fine because that means this is all we have. That’s what I tell the Elders when they come around.

“I live each day as though that’s all there is. I have no idea where this day came from or if there… Continue

Sonnet to God, Where were you?

Hello God, if that's really your true name.

Hear me! I have a bone to pick with you!

Where were you when I called, Oh God, your name?

Were you there beside me as said is true...

Or were you playing a stupid card game?

Where were you when the headache began that day?

Where were you when annurysm struck her brain?

When my screams bounced off the wall, what'd you say?

Still I called, but my mind was breaking down.

If you're all powerful,… Continue

Angry Faithful Religion....

Hello to everyone, I'm new here and this is my first blog post so please bear with me.

About the title of this post, it's something that puzzles me, along with thousands of other things. Why do so called faithful "believers" in their particular religion get so upset and angry when you point out a flaw or make a negative remark about their particular deity? Take the news story from last year when a British teacher working in Sudan was put in jail for naming a teddy… Continue

God = Hypocrite?

I've been working on a speech for a public speaking competition at my school and while doing research, I came across a blog that was talking about how God's a murderer. [Link posted at the bottom of blog]

I'd already known this, but based on the estimated total, I was in shock.

Being a former Christian [Evangelical, Protestant], I'd been taught to abide by the 10 Commandments.

One being "Thou Shall Not Kill."

It makes no sense to me how God would tell us to not… Continue

On Denominations and God's Absence

I chiefly write this note for Christian readers in hopes they will take 5 minutes to read it all, but I know 5 minutes is much to ask, especially for what might be considered offense or arrogance in the following paragraphs. Read if you'd like.

I took a screenshot of facebook's "Religious Views" pull-down menu the other day and noticed that there are way too many choices. Then I realized how unbelievable it is that there are still this many variations of Christianity. Then I… Continue

Can Unicorns Breathe Underwater?

The answer is, of course, "Unicorns don't exist." I would like to pose a similar question that requires just as much consideration as the one in the title of this post: "Why did God flood the earth, choosing only Noah's family and two of every animal to survive?" The question is irrelevant because there was no godly flood. There was no Noah, no heathens to be drowned because of their sin, no unicorns to be left behind as the Ark floated away to safety.…

Genesis 3: God screws up the world, blames man

The Bible’s Answer

The Bible, like many myths, begins with answering how the world came to be and why it’s so screwed up.

The Bible tells us that God created everything in six days. He created Adam out of dust, and Eve out of Adam’s rib. (Woman, being the property of man, doesn’t get the dignity of her own mud spawning.) They were placed in the Garden of Eden and told they could eat of any fruit except one. If they ate that… Continue
