Pat Robertson gave me a glimmer of hope that he wasn't bat-shit crazy.... but only for moment
I was going through my daily ritual of catching up with the goings-on in the world, checking out stories on various sites, when I saw an article that I just had to read: Pat Robertson Dispels Creationist Idea That Earth is 6,000 Years Old, on Huffington Post.
I immediately began reading the article, convinced that this was some tease and he didn't…

Drop by and take a gander at the work-in-progress and feel free to comment, suggest or tell me to "go to Hell" (even if it doesn't exist).
While you're there, check out my "The Theory of Evil-ution vs the Mythology of Creationism" posts. I think you might enjoy them.

In U.S., 46% Hold Creationist View of Human Origins
From: http://www.gallup.com/poll/155003/Hold-Creationist-View-Human-Origins.aspx?version=print
"Despite the many changes that have taken place in American society and culture over the past 30 years, including new discoveries in biological and social science, there has been virtually no sustained change in Americans' views of the origin of the human species since 1982. The 46% of…

The folks at the Creation Museum are at it again - ARK ENCOUNTERS
I was looking at some links to Answers in Genesis (AiG) posted in another discussion, and I began poking around this Young Earth Creationist (YEC) resource site. At the top it has links to other related sites, and one of them caught my eye - ARK Encounter ("Help Build the Ark!"). Being the "Click-Curious" type, I clicked on the link and was taken to a site that is currently a…

Okay then...
I had another debate... this time with a new world creationist I think they're called. He thinks the Earth is 6000 years old. Six thousand years old... great. He was firm on that too, claiming that there is hard scientific evidence for it and he saw that evidence on some DVD's that he has where christian scientists explain why this is true. Right, and I'm a talking snake that seduced Adam's rib.
I told him about Carbon-14 tests and all of the studies and finding archeologist,…

Texas can’t catch a break.
(Cross-posted from my actual blog, hosted by the good folks here at Think Atheist!)
When it comes to its education standards, Texas has had a lot of bad luck these last few years.
Whether they were contending with a willfully ignorant dentist whom Texas Governor Rick Perry somehow thought was qualified to chair the State Board of Education (SBoE) and who…

Debate #1 with Creationism and the Origin of Life
So, there is a group on Facebook called Creationism and the Origin of Life. The admin on this group is pretty much a tyrannical dictator who will delete your posts if he disagrees with you, if you don't capitalise the "G" in the word god (no matter what the context), and has a lot of other ridiculous rules. Anyway, before I get booted from his discussions I decided to at least attempt to debate him. If anyone could help me out with how to respond to some of these posts I would appreciate…
