I got on a plane Friday morning from Missouri to San Antonio, Texas, to spend Christmas with my daughter Syan, and her boyfriend, both of whom are in the Air Force. This is what Christmas is all about. I'm so enjoying the time with them and getting away from the day to day grind back at home.

I was sitting in my office today.  I was alone as almost everyone else has taken off for the holiday.  I had  Pandora on Christmas music.  I listen to a lot of Baroque, Renaissance, medieval, celtic and new age music anyhow and that was the flavor of my Christmas music.  I also had Trans-Sibrian Railway and Manheim Steamroller.  I really enjoyed it.

I have a confession - I love the holiday season. I love Christmas' blatant commercialism and Santa Claus and all of that. One of my by-the-book atheist friends, however, was quick to make fun of me for wanting to get Christmas lights for my house. Is it really such a conflict being an atheist but enjoying the holiday festivities?

This has been going on since I was at school here in the UK (about 8 years... hmm feel old saying that) and suffice to say I'm tired of it.
