The Beauty of Nature and the Meaning of Life - Without a God
Greetings to the Think Atheist community!
Here is an extract paragraph from one of my older blog posts 'The Beauty of Nature and the Meaning of Life - Without a God':
Continue"To those who see a lack of emotion or poetry in the idea of a godless universe I would ask why an empirical understanding of their existence – along with the inevitable realisation that it is in itself not extremely meaningful as far as the laws of physics are concerned - is any…

Atheism is a conclusion, not a belief.
This is some thing I wish more people would realize.

I Am Going To Read The Bible
I grew up in a family that went to church on holidays and said grace before meals, so you could say we weren't the strictest Christian family, we just worshipped when it was most convenient. From a early age I always questioned everything especially religion! It was always so frustrating when I asked a question and the only answer I ever seemed to get was, "That is the way the lord wants it." I always thought that was one bogus excuse of an answer.
One day I even asked my mom why God…

My response to a Muslim who sent me 27 tweets
Thank you for sending me 27 tweets trying to save my soul, which i don't have from hell which does not exist upon being judged by a god that isn't there. Wanting me to go to a heaven, which does not exist is a nice though. It still bewilders me what i would do with 72 virgins, and would they stay virgins afterwards? How long would it be before all 73 of us would be bored by each other? Eternity can be a very long time you know.…

The rise of atheism in America

Art Takes Time Square
I just signed up for a competition and art exhibit. It's called Art Takes Time Square. I post some art I created about the Christian mythos and the inherent evil therein. If you are into art and feel so inclined please swing by and sign up and click on collect to help me win the competition. The payoff is that art pointing out the evil of Christianity will be displayed on giant monitors in Times Square. Thanks for your support!…

Right without Religion
You do not need religion to be a morally or ethically "right" individual, let's put that out here in the open. This is for the communities that don't yet understand their religion is poisoning their world views. The people who publicly ridicule GLBT communities, the small towns where interracial couples are not accepted. Those special kinds of towns and cities where it is acceptable to fly the flag of the south, to openly support slavery, but if you support same-sex relations or…

Atheist faces jail after Facebook remark
An Indonesian civil servant who declared himself an atheist on Facebook was arrested and is now facing jail for blasphemy after being attacked by an angry mob, police said today.
Alexander An, 30, who wrote "God doesn't exist" on his Facebook page, was beaten by a mob of dozens on Wednesday in his hometown in Pulau Punjung, West Sumatra province.
"He is suspected of having blasphemed against Islam," local police chief Chairul Aziz told AFP.
"The man told police…

Faithless: Why You Don't Need To Disprove A God To Swear Off Religion.
There's no one quite as righteous as the one who believes himself to be part of the chosen people.
The Catholic Church's ongoing sex abuse scandal has lent itself to late-night jokes, investigative reports, disillusioned churchgoers, shameful clergy and lest we forget, an untold amount of shattered victims.
Though there were publicized prosecutions of priests as early as the 1960s, it wasn't until the Boston Globe's award-winning piece in 2002 highlighting the recent rash of…

"Happy Holidays" and American Christian Supremacism
That time of year is fast approaching when people begin to celebrate their various holidays. And, this year as usual, the Christian supremacists are whining as loud as they possibly can.
This year I’m friends with an older man on Facebook; he puts up a status saying, and I quote:
“I DO NOT CARE IF THIS DOES OFFEND SOMEONE…THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE…I AM SICK AND TIRED OF EVERY YEAR WHEN CHRISTMAS COMES AROUND; THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TAKE CHRIST OUT OF CHRISTMAS BECAUSE IT…

My thoughts on the late, great Christopher Hitchens
(NOTE: I initially posted this on my Facebook page - you know, I've got to keep the outspoken, "out of the closet" atheist thing going ;) I decided I wanted to share it here as well, with people whom I respect and admire, friends and acquaintances whom I know are of like mind.)
I want to take a moment to honor an amazing man whom I greatly admired. Today, Christopher Hitchens died at the age of 62. He died from pneumonia, a complication of the oesophageal cancer he had. He…

Atheism Vs Anti-Theism
Public discussion regarding Atheism, from a right of center perspective, usually involves the attack that Atheists are militant in their pursuit of changing public opinion and deeply held moral beliefs. While this may be true, I think Militant Atheism is not a very good term for the phenomenon.
I believe that Anti-Theism would be more suited to describing the feelings and actions held by our most outspoken activists. It is an understandable position; many of us do have some…

Crosses - A Poem
Cross yourself and speak unto Jesus
And hope for the species that the people deceased
Are released from the pain and the suffering
Your faith is decreasing, the pages are creasing
In the only book you've been reading.
The idea is appealing, but somehow revealing
Of the fear that you're breeding.
And you're left needing...
You're only human.
A part of this species that does as it pleases.
If you do what they tell you then you will be…

Why I am an Atheist
Much like any child growing up with a loving mother, I was often lulled to sleep by her gentle and comforting voice as she read me a story. Unlike most mothers though, she rarely read from the newest selections of the public library, instead delighting me with tales of Samson, King David and of course Jesus Christ himself. I was a young Hispanic Catholic boy and she was smart enough to sprinkle the adventure-laden stories and parables in with the more philosophical readings to tug at my…

Atheism is the "new cool"?
On September 19 2011, the Telegraph website published an article titled "Atheism is cool, says Archbishop Rowan Williams". In the article the Archbishop claims the apparent rise in atheism due to it's "cool" factor, and that refutations of authors such as Richard Dawkins don't get the attention they "deserve" because atheism is the latest fad, not…

In public I rarely cuss. In private, it's another matter. Pain and frustration can cause me to say something like Jesus f***ing Christ! In religious company, I try to bite my tongue, but there have been occasions where I have let a simple, exasperated Jesus! slip. There have also been occasions where such an exclamation invited a rebuke inspired by the fourth commandment, such as, Don't take God's name in vain.
I just realized my rejoinder. Now…
