Atheism is a natural outcome

In my recent interview with PZ Myers, when asked "Is atheism even something you think about, or is it merely part of having an informed knowledge of the universe and its workings?" he stated:

"Atheism is a natural conclusion of rational and scientific thinking."

Bingo! He hit the nail on the head, and… Continue

Adults like to love based on who they see

Yet they can love an imaginary god who they can't see but can't love me

Oh I'm not scared of your Hell believe me

If it did exist you would be right there with…

"Nietzsche and the Death of God" from Martin S Pribble

From Martin S Pribble

"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean…

Jesus Appealed to Greed as a Motivator

Greed, one of the seven deadly sins, to be avoided for sure. But does Jesus promise it? Does he put the carrot of riches out in front of his followers? Does Jesus tempt you with a sin? Does he appeal to your desire for material possessions? I think so. It's in a long line of his spiritual failures, so what's one more?

Through out the Bible you'll find warnings to avoid worrying about wealth and material things. You would expect that such a great teacher could motivate…

I would argue that because we are animals, we should be treating them better than they would treat us. Considering many animals in the wild

would simply kill us, use what they want, then leave the carcass behind for…

No Second Chances - Why the Oscar Grant Killing is more horrifying for a non-believer

This piece was originally published on OpEdNews.com under the same title.

To borrow a line from John Lennon, "Imagine there's no heaven." Really, imagine it.

Now imagine you are Oscar Grant, lying on your stomach on the cold hard pavement of the subway platform. A knee, putting the weight of a two hundred pound man, descends on your neck like a wolverine's jaws, grinding… Continue

Living Under God's Good Graces

Last year Gregory Paul updated a study on the value of living in a religious society. He clearly shows that the more religious a society is, the worse life is for the society. He collected data from all over the world, so it's not just a US study. There were criticisms in his 2005 report on it so the second one really was designed to silence the critics.

If you were to listen to Evangelicals and Baptists, you…
