There is an on-going debate here in the Philippines regarding the governments active action to curb out population increase. One major plan is to pursue the Reproductive Health Program, in which, the Department Of Health, will be giving out seminars to the less fortunate Filipinos about population, health and parenting. The government is urging the general public to support its programs. The Philippine President, also stated that he supports this plan because he views it as a major factor in…

Do you see
The wear on me
And yet you still believe
In gods that don't breathe
Wake up and know
Your gods don't ever show
Until you choose to make them up
From the dust
There is no salvation from what we have become
On the outside
Inside we must decide to rise
Instead of looking at the sky
Your gods don't know if I'm sleeping
Or if I'm awake
They don't know what good or bad is
They are all bastards and…

In my recent interview with
PZ Myers, when asked "Is atheism even something you think about, or is it merely part of having an informed knowledge of the universe and its workings?" he stated:
"Atheism is a natural conclusion of rational and scientific thinking."
Bingo! He hit the nail on the head, and…

You may have missed the excitement from yesterday's NFL games. My beloved Buffalo Bills nearly pulled off the upset of the year by beating the Steelers of Pittsburgh. The local club snatched victory from the jaws of defeat when a wide-open Stevie Johnson dropped a pass in the end zone in overtime. The ball hit him right between the numbers.
Johnson was inconsolable after the game. Apparently he was feeling a little more wordy after the game when he tweeted the following:…

Your child doesn't care that I'm a different color
But why do you
Babies love who loves them plainly
Adults like to love based on who they see
Yet they can love an imaginary god who they can't see but can't love me
Oh I'm not scared of your Hell believe me
If it did exist you would be right there with…

Can't make this stuff up, folks. You think if this happened in Rome the Vatican would give him sanction?

Father John Fiala, 52, was arrested last week in Dallas County after he was caught on tape by investigators trying to hire a hit man to kill the teen who's accused Fiala of sexual abuse.
Attorney Tom Rhodes said as shocking as the…

I've posted about this on a certain group I belong to on Facebook, but I thought I'd say something about it on here. Scientologists have rented out the storefront in the bottom of the apartment building I live in. I think I may have to do something about this. Updates to come.

So I have a pretty interesting story, eh, maybe not. You be the judge.
Anyway, my cousins and I were out to eat today at a Chinese restaurant. After our meal we got our fortune cookies as usual, and I got jipped. Mine didn't have a piece of paper in it. My cousin Mike said "maybe it's because you dont beleive in that kinda stuff" They all said "yeah, you're an atheist". lol well, my cousin Tiff, who is very religious opened her's and it said Hallelujah.…

Well everyone, it seems as though we did get it all wrong. While shopping I came across this gem of the holiday season and, clearly, the true meaning of christmas: sparkly jesus.
Honestly, this is some peoples idea of worship and praising their…

"On Thanksgiving theists give gratitude to a bipolar imaginary friend for the things they earned via their own efforts and favorable circumstances. Atheists pat them selves on the back and are happy that these choices and circumstances gave them such good things for another year of the only life they'll have." - Jason Paisley

I don't feel one can rationally make general claims about "religions" or "religion". Such attempts by atheists show their emotional agenda has trumped their rational skills. And to do so with a claim of superior rationality reveals a destructive emotional habit. IMHO.
Religion is an abstract notion and too slippery given the varieties of entities out there that can be slipped into various understandings of the word. Thus, generalizations are unsuccessful. Misunderstanding the nature of…

Free will can be a very contentious topic. People can't seem to agree on what it means, exactly. Much of the difficulty arises from the use of the word, "free", in the term, "free will". To be truly free would require supernatural agency. We CAN'T act contrary to natural law, so we are constrained by nature.
Free will, therefor, exists in context of the most basic of natural laws: causality. Free will constrained by causality? To those who believe… Continue

That's right, I'm an atheist and proud to begin with. But all these years I've never been too into shape so to speak. And so now is the time to change that! I'm doing it not just for myself, but for a personal reason as well. Anyways I go to this one fitness center called the clements center, you just pay $2 a day and you can work out for as long as you want. I basically worked out for 2 hours yesterday when I went, and so when I'm not at the center I'm working out at home. So yeah, when I…

My main approach to explaining atheism is not to deny God but, rather, to deny any knowledge about the supernatural -- and I think we can all agree that God is as supernatural as it gets.
A common response to the above assertion goes something like, "What IS the supernatural, anyway?", or "That depends on what you mean by supernatural".
So let's clearly delineate the difference between the natural and supernatural realms.
The natural realm is the entire universe…

Just got with a fight with my mother. It's the kind of fight that seems suitable to talk about on here.
She became very upset with me for saying I hate religion. She said I shouldn't discriminate against religious people. I told her I don't hate the people, I hate religion. Though I also hate stupid people and a lot of them are religious. She said I was being discriminate and I shouldn't hate anything. I replied that hate is a legitimate emotion and I have every right to…
