REALLLYYY???

"Okay, I don't pretend to be as intelligent as you guys — you're obviously very well read.  But I read the Bible, and nothing you say can convince me that God does not exist.  I feel him in my heart, and you can feel him too, if you'll just ask him into your life.  "For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son into the world, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish from the earth." John 3:16."

someone needs to do a god damn experiment relating the "feeling of…

Thanks!

I've been a member of this community for about two months. My girlfriend and i are going through very stressful situation, part of which involves our religious viewpoints (which of course are atheist). I just wanted you guys to know that its nice to be able to have a place to come where i can be myself, and receive moral support from like minded individuals. So, again, Thanks!

Let your flag fly.

One of my favorite quotes is "Being shy about being an atheist is like the class genius purposely flunking a test in order to fit in."  Now I am not sure who said it first or where to give credit but I think its an amazing concept.

How many atheist friends do I have who are essentially in the closet.. that are afraid of what others may think of them and don't ever chose to disclose the person that they are deep down.  I for one have never wanted to hide the fact that I am who I am. It…

BUT IT'S A MIRACLE!

Polish Communion Heart Bullshit...

Ugh, I'm tired. Just...

Okay so I'm talking with my little brother's friend who is a 19 year old lesbian Catholic. I asked her why she's Catholic and she fed me the same trite crap I had be reciting all my years as a Catholic.

I asked her some of the questions that led to my own…

How did you come out?

I live in the South, and come from a family who is very socially conservative. This is also true for most of my friends, coworkers, and generally anyone else whom I interact with. I have told my girlfriend, who was slightly worried about it. I think she was mainly worried because of the sticker shock, but she seems to be fine with it now.

Despite my worry of how people will accept me afterward, I feel like I at least need to tell my family, but I am unsure of how to do this. I have…

A invite to a youth revival.

Today I got invited to one of those youth revivals from a neighbor and I just thanked her for it. Not wanting to offend her or outing myself and have her talk to other neighbors about me, I just couldn't bring myself tell her that I am an Atheist. I really don't know anyway way to handle this other than not to show up, however I do feel a little offended by it, cause it's feels like someone walking up to you and offering a cigarette, or a person who is a recovering alcoholic and offering him…

Dawkins Explains Refusal to Debate Craig

I'm really glad Dawkins finally decided to speak up about this. Not that he had to mind you, but rather that I knew the retort to the constant bashing he was receiving at the hands of Craig and his minions would be classic Dawkins, which is to say straight forward, reasoned and a slam dunk. I applaud many others including Harris for debating him and in my opinion pwning him, but I also think the stand Dawkins is taking is 100 percent legitimate. The response is below.

Gallop's attempt to prove that only 7% Muslims are extremists. Rest saints!!

I came across this year old video shared by a fellow member where few Muslim liberals used a Gallop poll to prove that most Muslims are not radical. They used this single poll to try to prove that Islam is totally a religion of peace.

Taking a skeptical approach to every thing that we hear or see, lets try to investigate what evidence Gallop has for its shocking poll result.

First the video. Many people would want to avoid the 107 minute debate, but I would like to suggest it…

Giuliana rancic.cancer god logic

I watched the clip of Giuliana Rancic announcing that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I seriously facepalmed at the end of it. I have heard of her, but I don’t really follow her too much. I know she hosts a show on the E network and her husband and her have a reality. Apparently, the reality shows has a lot to do with her getting pregnant and getting IVF treatments. It’s been really hard for her to get pregnant and she has had miscarriages and stuff. I guess during the IVF process…

Atheism is the "new cool"?

On September 19 2011, the Telegraph website published an article titled "Atheism is cool, says Archbishop Rowan Williams". In the article the Archbishop claims the apparent rise in atheism due to it's "cool" factor, and that refutations of authors such as Richard Dawkins don't get the attention they "deserve" because atheism is the latest fad, not…

It's hard to be an atheist when someone dies and Amazing Grace is played.

Indy race car driver, Dan Wheldon died yesterday (Sunday Oct 16, 2011) here at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in a 15 car accident. A tribute by his fellow race car drivers was performed later with Amazing Grace playing in the background.…
