Last night, the staff of the church which I serve as Director of Music had a fundraising dinner that was a tremendous amount of FUN. And honestly, even though it was a church event, I don't think the fun we had was even remotely related to religion. We, the staff, served our guests dinner and participated in various games that were inspired by games featured on some late night TV shows, including a fairly epic Lip Sync Battle (a la Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show). I did "Dream On" by…

How Non-Believers Can Make the Most of Religious Services
The above post from Patheos.com got me thinking: I know most atheists probably don't care to attend church, for obvious reasons. But how many non-believers DO attend church regularly, to support a spouse or friend, for social benefits, or just because they still haven't "come out of…

Few days back I called my friend in the evening. He didnt attend my call i thought may be he is on job late night he sent me msg that he was busy somewhere i asked some details then he told me that he was with preachers they came from Pakistan to preach islam in EU .
Everybody knows Pakistan is a country with religious sects . Most of religious sects are involved in terrorism. They provided jihadis to America against Russia. Every muslim in pakistan wants to lead his life according to…
Just over a year ago, I managed to get a new church music job: it pays better (and I've gotten two raises in the past year); the people I work with are very cool; my kids and wife love it there, and truthfully, I love it there. There's just one thing I realized today: in my heart of hearts, I don't actually believe in God. I pray out loud with my choir every week, I participate in Sunday School and talk about the Bible with other Christians, I often pay a lot of lip service to God. It's part…

I was born into a very religious Muslim family. Today i was thinking that when i was a child i was told that there is a God in the skies who is staying above the seven skies & monitoring all our virtues & sins via his angels.
He doesn't sleep. He stays awake all day & night. He gives us food. He bring clouds & then it rains. He controls the weather.
He has the ability to control everything even he controls our minds. He sends prophets to all the nations they…

There is a mosque near my house in Pakistan. A few days back as I called my brother the Azan ( call for prayer) started in a loud speaker.
Our next door neighbour has a dog. As the Azan started the dog started barking. Then I came to know it happens five times a day. In fact the pet gets scared.
The area where my family lives there are hardly a hundred houses there but mosque speaker is very loud. Preachers never control speakers nor government controls…

To believe or not to believe is a very personal matter. In west people don't bother about our beliefs until or unless we start preaching our ideas forcefully.
In Pakistan its totally different. For example if i am sitting outside my home & reading a book & there is a prayer time every passer-by will ask me to join him in prayer. He'll also tell me some Hadiths about prayer & if i don't join him he ll tell other people & they all will curse me.
Now a days most…

I have recently experienced a level of success that I’m not used to. Somebody pinch me. It feels too good to be true. And my history and experiences with the world would tell me that if something feels too good to be true………..it probably is. And the rug is about to get pulled from under me any minute now….
I keep waiting for that day to happen. But it’s not happening. It’s starting to look more and more sure. Like I might actually be able to trust it. But I’m not convinced. Not…

Freedom
In Pakistan August is called the month of freedom. On 14 August 1947 Pakistan emerged on the map of the world. We got freedom from the British Empire. It is said that freedom is a great blessing even if you are religious or non-religious. All the Indians wanted freedom from British Empire but after the world war 2 freedom slogan got a very high speed because British state was getting weak due to the world war. Indians also wanted political stability in their land there were…
