An open letter to those spokesmen for the New Atheism who have labored mightily these last few years to sweep aside religion’s paralytic webs of superstition and prejudice, and to liberate the rest of our Species via Science and Enlightenment:
Dear Sirs,
Speaking just for this Atheist convert, congratulations, Guys, You really did it! Thanks to all Your hard work, the rest of us know once and for all that the so-called “God” is everything You say he is: the biggest… Continue
This is an Op-Ed that I wrote for OpEdnews.com. Monicks has been asking me to post it here, so I hope you all enjoy it...
Have you ever read your terms of use for Facebook? How about Google? If you did, there would be some phrases, if you can decipher them in the jargon, which you may find objectionable. However, they are tools for the modern world, and you would probably continue to utilize them anyway, knowing full well that they are, using… Continue
One of the biggest Climate Change Denialists, Bjorn Lomborg, (well he wasn't a denialist per se because he admitted it was happening but he claimed there was nothing we could do about it) has changed his mind and is going to advocate that the world seriously invest billions of dollars per year to combat… Continue

I just found out I'm having another boy. I have a one year old named Xander, which I got from a show on adult swim. I want a name that's creative but not too weird. The only name I can think of that I really like is Holden and my boyfriend doesn't like it. The lists online are terrible. They give me thousands of names and most of them I can't even figure out how to pronounce. So, I know this has nothing to do with atheism, science or anything else relevant but I'd appreciate suggestions.… Continue

Im now sicked of hearing that X religion is the fastest growing one, people think that because his religion has more suscribers is better and more true than others? even when they dont have a clue about what they are talking? that they just hear their preacher said so, so is true and they swallow it up as if where extasis of their mind? an extasis of ignorance?
OK, so this is probably really old news to everyone else, but I just found out James Randi and Stephen Fry are gay (and that Fry is a humanist/atheist). I always think it is cool when people come out of the closet, but I have to say, I am a bit disappointed that Stephen Fry is gay. Why? Because he is totally sexy. As a heterosexual woman, I wish all handsome, witty, intelligent atheist men were in my dating pool. Oh, and Ricky Martin. How he could shake that perfect bon-bon! Rawr. I bet I was… Continue
I am so sick of religious people being completely self conscious about their beliefs and claims that a calm conversation about religion is an attack on their belief, when the same people have no problem what so ever telling me how wrong I am and how I should go about finding truth in God's word.
It started out with a simple status update on facebook.
It said something along the lines of: I wish more people posted their religious views in their profiles, I am curious how… Continue

It seems that Glen Beck is taking another crack at attacking "Social Justice". I always found it a bit curious that someone who preaches to Libertarian America would advocate for God and Christ.
Especially considering what is clearly Beck's version of Conservative Libertarianism, which seems to be based solely on selfishness and acquisition.
Which puts him in the curious position of interpreting the actions of what is written in the New Testament to NOT infer the "social… Continue
After a few rather busy days of orientation, I have found a little respite in this calm Sunday morning (of course, it was left free with the intent of letting church-goers attend their services).
It feels like nowadays my mind is so colored by the distinctions of religions. As I entered the campus, I noticed the numerous "Need a ride to church?" posters and the campus ministries' booths as some watchful parents ushered their half-caring eighteen year olds towards their displays.… Continue
I used to see this in different religious groups where people would become disatisfied with one group and then join another....but the only real difference in perspective was the change of allegiences, the 'mindset' was exactly the same. They would claim great change....but they really hadn't...not very much.
I've seen this with fundamentalist christians who quit christianity, join another religion and bring their fundy mindset right along with them. Everything is interpreted…
"It is a great tragedy that science, this wonderful process for finding out what is true, has ceded the spiritual uplift of its central revelations: the vastness of the universe, the immensity of time, the relatedness of all life, and life’s preciousness on our tiny planet." Ann Druyan…
So I work a business to business sales job that conducts full day job shadows as a second interview. More often than not I’ll have a recent graduate along for the ride so that they can get a feel for the job and I can decide if they are a good fit for the position.…
I'm a blind man; I can not see. The floor is falling from underneath me; Falling into unbelief.
Darkness floods this soul of mine, Till no light can I find. Close my eyes to the truth-- No to evidence, Reason is cruel, Blinded eyes this is the rule.
I pray to god yet he is silent. I fear without him the world is violent The angels … Continue
