Too long to be a status, apparently...

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Except the words on the internet that I could easily ignore, but instead choose to get butt-hurt over, then get made a fool of because I got my panties in a twist over something I could have and should have ignored in the first place.

People are smart, aren't they?

God vs. Religion

Hello Think Atheist community! This is my first attempt at blogging, so I'm not sure if this really belongs as a blog or as a discussion topic. However, my blogging exploits will cover topics within my realm of experience. I am also attempting to write a novel, so I may post excerpts and ask for feedback at some point, I'm not really sure. I don't know what direction this blog will take, but hopefully you will enjoy my posts.

Damned again. Dang.

How many times do I have to be damned for all eternity, I wonder?  Is that like having 6 consecutive life sentences?  Is there ever any break between suffering, or is it non-stop misery for all time?  How will my body hurt if I don't have one?

A theist asked a ridiculous question about us being able to see in 3D and how that could only have happened if we were created by God yadda, yadda, yadda.  She asked me a question, so I answered it to the best of my ability.  Then, when she…

Blogging for logic // Religious assumptions

Greetings all!

I haven't posted on TA for a while but have been lurking the site and enjoying everyone's videos and blogs. Regrettably, my free time has been at a premium, and jumping in to discussions right at the deep end is what has ultimately suffered. That said, I've recently decided to try my hand at blogging as a stress outlet, and to put my usual ramblings and reactions into written words. My most recent posting was of a theological nature, so I figured I'd share it with…

Tractoon 1 - Jesus is a Zombie! (Cover)

Either one - atheist or cartoonist - is expected to be controversial. I've had toons printed on a number of occasions, and know enough to know everything's changed since the days of light tables and, y'know, ink. Web comics are where it's at, dig it?

The Edifi (aka the godPad)

So it seems that the Christians have taken a new low now, by releasing their very own "Christian Tablet" they are calling The Edifi.

Get this the Edifi, is equipped with its own web browser with a "safe search" built into it. In order words, its their nifty little way to censor its users shamelessly in order to avoid too much…

Religion/Belief Does NOT Equal Race/Ethnicity

Too many people confuse Muslim or Islamic with race or ethnicity and are afraid to speak out against it for fear of being called racist. Muslim is not a race, it is a BELIEF. There are many Muslims that are not from the middle east and there are many people from the middle east that are not Muslim. Beliefs are not sacrosanct. It is not racist or bigoted to speak out against harmful beliefs. It is not racist…

Being Atheist does not make me evil!!!

There is reason I keep my atheism quiet for the majority of the time. Today at work I let it slip that don't celebrate Christmas which brought on the question of why not? Well I answered honestly that I am an atheist, which was proceeded by one of my co-workers looking at me in shock (like I had just grown horns) and said, "Have you read the Bible?!" My response was, "Yes I have. That is why I am atheist."

On a related note she now constantly tells me I need to read the bible and…

"(insert religion) is the best!"

It really annoys me when someone says that their religion is the "best", as in "I love being a christian, it's the best!" around me, as if just by saying that, I'll say something like "Really? Oh boy, I want to try it!". I mean, seriously? I know that you're a christian, good for you, or whatever, I don't really care. I'm not going to convert just because you say that its nice. Do you think I'm not happy being an atheist? If so, you clearly don't pay any attention to me at all, which is a…

Hello, world.

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie here (just started this account last night) and I thought I say what I plan on saying in my blogs. I tend to ask a lot of "why" questions, especially about human psychology, behavior, and stuff like that. I also tend to rant quite a bit. Thanks for reading, I hope I don't bore anyone!

Coyotes in Our Midst - The Growth of Suburban-Dwelling Eastern Coyotes - A blog of biology by a person who lives with coyotes

For those of you who don't live in the United States, you should know that we actually have 2 species of coyote in this country: The Western Coyote and the Eastern Coyote. (Wiley Coyote from Looney Toons is a Western Coyote).

Coyotes of both kinds have always been with us here. They have roamed this land since the days that Native American tribes wandered the trails. But... apparently Eastern Coyotes are causing a new problem for the modern world.

The Western Coyote is the one…

Common Misconceptions of "religion name goes here"

For those who aren't familiar with the legal concept of the "fruit of the poisonous tree" in regard to evidence; I'll summarize. If information is gathered through any means that is not legal then any conclusions made from that information or additional information, regardless of the validity, is also not legal and can not be used as argument. That is a very quick paraphrase of a much more complex ideal.

It does, however, apply to dogma. I regularly read discussions here on points…

Christianity in the furture.

The other day I was reading Michal Moore's book, Stupid white men. In one chapter he said the women ratio is out numbering the men, and then going on on about how men deserve to be whipped out and all. But then I was thinking about the women ratio in the future and what it'll do to Christianity with in the next 40 years or so. I'm thinking that it'll come to three conclusions:

1. It'll raise the lesbians to a large majority in the world.

2. Or that Christianity will have to…
