Somali Islamists maintain aid ban and deny famine

I had to repost this..I posted it when the terrorist controversy happened so it didn't get more attention but it is urgent..

More from the "religion of peace" - they would rather have their own people die than to receive aid and food from the international community and the United…

Religion and Violence

I was thinking, (something I have an uncontrollable propensity to do), about how all religions claim to be peaceful, but all seem to condone murder (with the exception of Janists).  Not only in their religious texts, but also in their literature.  In the Chronicals of Narnia, the first time the children meet Aslan, he teaches them to kill.  And lets not even discuss the "Left Behind" series.  It has been my general experience that when someone tells you how loving, wonderful, and peaceful…

Portal to Another Dimension?

Last night, while driving home from dinner, my wife mentioned that there was an archway or door in China that is believed to be a gateway to another dimension.

Obviously this is ludicrous and my wife felt the same. She further stated that people have gone through it and have not been seen again. I know, spooky!

Anyways, I tried to search for it to see what it was about and research it further. I could not find anything related to the search terms I used. I was… Continue

Science Channel Chat?

I'm hoping I'm not the only one here who watches the Science Channel. They're on an upswing of really good, quality shows after a few years of drivel. I'm very excited for all the new shows. I'm wondering if anyone would like to join me in watching/discussing them after new episodes have aired. We could find a time after the show to discuss, or chat while watching the show. I prefer having people to talk with during the show, but I'd be willing set up a chat for a later date. There…

The Three Painters :A parable for athiests

A woman gave birth to a set of triplets, two boys and a girl. The three of them all grew up to be amazing still life painters and all three of them were born with a degenerative eye disease. They knew that some day they would go blind so they tried to paint as much as possible before the world went black.

They also knew that nothing satisfied them quite as much as seeing the world and presenting it in art form. To them still life was the greatest thing in the world.

One sunny…

Is God Hiding?

There are some Christians who cannot be sure if their god is hiding or not. Their answer keeps changing. In debates, they sometimes speak of how all creation points to their god, or how speaking in tongues shows his holy spirit is real. They may speak of healing that could only have come about with their god's help, or how Bible prophecies being fulfilled is proof it was divinely inspired. In their eyes, God isn't hiding. Proof of his…

The Foxhole

There are those that still say that there are no Atheists in foxholes.  Firstly, one should point out that the amount of foxholes is declining rapidly.  So much of the big policeman of the world’s baton brandishing over the head of countries that will not do what they are told, is now done by comfortable family folk sitting in some office in Arizona, where after kissing their significant other and grabbing their lunchbox, they’re off to kill a few hundred in a drone attack as if they were…

US Armed Forces Ad Promotes Christianity

This is an ad I found while perusing through a Christian magazine. Considering the source, I am not surprised by the symbolism used...there is obviously a Christian cross and bible being used by the soldier. The text is what is interesting to me. It reads:

"As a chaplain in the Navy, you'll find limitless ways to employ your faith and you guide thousands of dedicated men and women who serve our nation.… Continue

A Critique of William Lane Craig's Version of Objective Morality

This morning I read a blog entry written by William Lane Craig and shuddered. [http://www.reasonablefaith.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=5767 ]

According to Craig, his god is not required to follow "objective" moral laws.  At the same time this god is defined as perfectly good.  If it is perfectly good not to follow objective moral laws then there is no reason why humans…

Thank you God

More than 80 died in the terrorist attack in Norway. It lasted an hour and a half. Even if you believed in God and accept the fact that this attack started you have to wonder why "God" would "allow" it to last for so long. Now all you will hear is that prayers are being sent to those involved. A lot of good that will do now. Thank you "God" for "allowing" this horrible event to happen and stregthen my athieistic beliefs

Best Xian Quote Ever!!!!!!!

This is priceless. In the most recent issue of GQ, no I don't have a subscription, Peyton Hillis was  interviewed about being chosen to be on the cover of Madden 2012. His quote absolutely sums up the sheepish oblivious nature of the mindset of the xian. The irony is almost hard to believe. I promise the quote is word for word. It made me literally lol and I had to share. Enjoy:

Q: If the infamous Madden curse holds up, you're headed for an injury. Worried?

A: People…

Terror in Norway - the suspect

Now this is a real interesting turn. Unlike the Islamists everyone expected, the terror was done by right wing/xenophobic/neo-nazis. Welcome to the politics of Norway.

The place currently being ransacked by the police (Hoffsveien 18, 0275, Oslo):

(The can is anti terror police, call name "Delta")

Here's the building in a bit of better weather. Note the…

The Disgusting Christian

So there I was driving along on the highway in my blue liberal progress state of Maryland and ahead of me was an suv driving very slowly with its hazards flashing. As I drove close the bile in my stomach pushed its way to the back of my throat. With six "jesus saves" flags sticking out of the windows and the most disgusting sign on the back window, I had to take a picture. In case you cant read it, it says "I used to be gay, but jesus saved me, meet my wife".  I just don't know what to say.…

The Dark Gnosis of Job - A Freethinker's Guide to the Mythology

If there is any text in the bible that presents us with a clear cut case against god[1], it’s the Book of Job. If it isn’t an outright cry for atheism then, at the very least, if you still insist on theism, you might find yourself saying, “Not this god.”…

Terror in Oslo

Gallows Humor

Well, if anyone ever doubted that Norwegians start our weekend early and with a bang, this should provide ample evidence to the contrary. ;)

The Story

So it appears that our Government Quarter (Regjeringskvartalet) has been hit by a car bomb. Specifically, the buildings of the Departments of Oil and Energy, Trade and Industry, and Health, in addition to the PMs offices and the HQ of the largest tabloid newspaper. The Supreme…

Fortunately it seems as if no one has been killed...but I wonder who committed the bombing? Why does one suspect it as retaliation for the Muhammad cartoons? So much with "peace and tolerance"

Edit: it seems as if at least one person has been killed with scores injured.

Norway: Blast near prime minister's office in Oslo…

Worship & Belief

Look, I don’t care what your personal beliefs are. If you want to worship a ten foot tall statue of a purple spotted penis entering an orange striped blue vagina, I really don’t give a fuck. I just have one rule:

You keep your religion to yourself!!!!

Worship what you want, how you want, when you want. If you and a bunch of people with similar belief systems want to get together once a day and give each other hand jobs in order to praise the same god, go for it. Fuck if I… Continue
