Miracle Survivors

Natural disasters, which came about before and as the result of man's fall, are a horrible reminder of what sin brought to our planet before we sinned. God in his infinite power could have set anything in motion for our transgressions. He could have created a monster to go around gobbling people up at random, or for people wanting the ground to swallow them up at embarrassing moments to get their wish. But in his infinite wisdom he chose things like…

"Denial, Cognitive Dissonance and Confirmation Bias" - from Atheist Climber blog

Let me start with this statement.

When a person who already believes strongly about something is presented with evidence that is contrary to their belief, they can tend to react in one of, or a combination of three ways; ignore the information (citing that it is irrelevant or blatantly wrong),… Continue

GODBLOCK

GodBlock is a web filter that blocks religious content. It is targeted at parents and schools who wish to protect their kids from the often violent, sexual, and psychologically harmful material in many holy texts, and from being indoctrinated into any religion before they are of the age to make such decisions. When installed properly, GodBlock will test each page that your child…

The Fraud of Religion

I can't believe that this fraud called religion has lasted as long as it has.
Surely, with all the hundreds of billions of humans that have passed through this planet, there must have been someone who could see that religion is a product of language, that language is an invention and, therefore, artificial, unnatural and unreal, and that everything created by or…

Why Islam is A CULT!!!

Islam is known as the second largest religion. The very fact that 1.2 billion people call themselves Muslims vests Islam with the mantel of legitimacy and confirms the claim that it is a religion. But is it?

The following is a description of what cult is:

1. A cult is a religious group with extreme beliefs and practices -

beliefs that are often contrary to science and logic but they…

Try these out.....

Hey all, I just wanted to throw a few questions out there that you can try out on any believers you know.

-Do you think that good decent people deserve to go to hell?

If they answer yes to this, which they probably will. Then answer back with this.

-Ok, so you say that those people don't deserve to go to hell. So then answer this, let's say that those people didn't believe in god, and these people are good decent people. But the thing is they didn't…

outsider test of faith

Hey everyone, I can't seem to find where the outsider of faith is at on the internet. I wanted to ask some people I know if they'd be willing to take the test. I read about what it's supposed to be about in john loftus's book the christian delusion.

Belgium's Raid on Catholic Church Was Model For World To Follow

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/wayne-besen/belgiums-raid-on-catholic_b_630678.html

Link to an article on some real action being taken. I hope we see a lot more of this in other countries and that the Belgium police follow through and its not just a display of action. Well done.

In God We Trust?

Today I started reading the local newspaper, as is my normal Sunday habit, and when I turn to page A5 what do I see? A full page with the faces of founding fathers (very appropriate considering the holiday) with those four words in massive print in the center of the page - "IN GOD WE TRUST". Under the face of each president is some quote each president made about either the importance of god or their own belief in god. So…

PERSPECTIVES

Today I did something that I only do for weddings and funerals: I went to a church.

A “relation” was celebrating their birthday and chose to do so at the church they attend. That’s fine. The gathering wasn’t religious in nature. No praying, or speaking in “tongues” nor was there any snake handling.

Having to answer “natures call” I headed off to the restroom.

Just before getting there I saw a flyer for the church’s summer camp for kids. Of course it was religious. But what… Continue

Do you keep up with "atheist" YouTube?

Do you have a favorite atheist youtube user/commentator? Please share! Who is your favorite atheist youtuber? I can honestly say that I've found some really great atheist voices on youtube, and I truly enjoy watching their videos. Ogjimbo, TheJamesPope, CultofDusty are a few of my favorites to name a few...and I was actually introduced to Angie from this website and I really like her stuff.

The Last Airbender: Gotta love the anti-atheist message in that movie.

The Last Airbender does not just bend air to his will, he is in charge of keeping the world in balance – but he is not ready for the task. Atrocious writing is the pustule on a strikingly beautiful movie with decent acting and captivating action sequences.

While out hunting, Katara (Nicola Peltz) and her brother Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), of the water tribe, find a frozen sphere with a boy and his floating beast of burden inside. When he escapes the bubble, the brother and sister realize he… Continue
