I think I'm back now! Yay!
For anyone interested, and anyone keeping tabs, things got really nasty there for a while, but life is looking up.
The roomie got crazier and crazier, and two days before rent was due, she decided to up the price. That was sort of the final straw for us. Her behavior was way, WAY erratic even before that, but at least we were able to move out without giving any notice, and feel pretty damn justified in that action.
Not only that, but we still… Continue

A Christian friend of mine said,
"So for all the genius of Dawkins (who I
believe is a great scientist, but poor philosopher), his theory of how
science can explain away God hits two major snags along the way. Purpose
and genesis. The best explanation for these I have heard is "that we
don't have the answers yet, but we will". But what is that if… Continue

Before we look at bible contradictions we first have to address the issues of bible inerrancy and apologetics.
First inerrancy; there are two main views when addressing the accuracy of the bible. One group of Christians believe that the bible is divinely inspired by God and its message has been molded and shaped by… Continue

Natural disasters, which came about before and as the result of man's fall, are a horrible reminder of what sin brought to our planet before we sinned. God in his infinite power could have set anything in motion for our transgressions. He could have created a monster to go around gobbling people up at random, or for people wanting the ground to swallow them up at embarrassing moments to get their wish. But in his infinite wisdom he chose things like… Continue

Let me start with this statement.
When a person who already believes strongly about something is presented with evidence that is contrary to their belief, they can tend to react in one of, or a combination of three ways; ignore the information (citing that it is irrelevant or blatantly wrong),… Continue

GodBlock is a web filter that blocks religious content. It is targeted at parents and schools who wish to protect their kids from the often violent, sexual, and psychologically harmful material in many holy texts, and from being indoctrinated into any religion before they are of the age to make such decisions. When installed properly, GodBlock will test each page that your child…

I can't believe that this fraud called religion has lasted as long as it has.
Surely, with all the hundreds of billions of humans that have passed through this planet, there must have been someone who could see that religion is a product of language, that language is an invention and, therefore, artificial, unnatural and unreal, and that everything created by or… Continue

Islam is known as the second largest religion. The very fact that 1.2 billion people call themselves Muslims vests Islam with the mantel of legitimacy and confirms the claim that it is a religion. But is it?
The following is a description of what cult is:
1. A cult is a religious group with extreme beliefs and practices -
beliefs that are often contrary to science and logic but they…

Hey all, I just wanted to throw a few questions out there that you can try out on any believers you know.
-Do you think that good decent people deserve to go to hell?
If they answer yes to this, which they probably will. Then answer back with this.
-Ok, so you say that those people don't deserve to go to hell. So then answer this, let's say that those people didn't believe in god, and these people are good decent people. But the thing is they didn't… Continue

Hey everyone, I can't seem to find where the outsider of faith is at on the internet. I wanted to ask some people I know if they'd be willing to take the test. I read about what it's supposed to be about in john loftus's book the christian delusion.

Link to an article on some real action being taken. I hope we see a lot more of this in other countries and that the Belgium police follow through and its not just a display of action. Well done.

Today I started reading the local newspaper, as is my normal Sunday habit, and when I turn to page A5 what do I see? A full page with the faces of founding fathers (very appropriate considering the holiday) with those four words in massive print in the center of the page - "IN GOD WE TRUST". Under the face of each president is some quote each president made about either the importance of god or their own belief in god. So… Continue

Today I did something that I only do for weddings and funerals: I went to a church.
A “relation” was celebrating their birthday and chose to do so at the church they attend. That’s fine. The gathering wasn’t religious in nature. No praying, or speaking in “tongues” nor was there any snake handling.
Having to answer “natures call” I headed off to the restroom.
Just before getting there I saw a flyer for the church’s summer camp for kids. Of course it was religious. But what… Continue
