Frustrated

How can I assert my lack of belief when the person with whom I'm talking cannot comprehend what I'm saying? His lack of understanding or misunderstanding creates a wall I can't break. How can I possibly defend my beliefs (or lack thereof) when my methodology of cogitation isn't understood by the other party? Oral History

Yesterday I started a second semester postgraduate Linguistics course called Linguistic approaches to the Study of Narrative. I am going to try to do my final research project for this course on Ayaan Hirsi Ali's autobiography, Infidel, or consider the agency present in conversion stories. Adam and Eve - Like babies off a cliff.

I wish I could remember where I found this lovely analogy;

This story is like setting your two little babies near the edge of a cliff, telling them “Don’t crawl off or you’ll die”, and then leaving them alone. Unsettling Ambiguities, Amazing Possibilities

Recently, while taking a drive down a divided highway north of Mexico City, I had a very close call. A driver traveling in the opposite direction lost control of his vehicle, perhaps losing a wheel and came across the median. There was no time to react. To avoid the imminent head-on collision, the driver swerved back into the deep median at the very last second, rolling his vehicle and losing his life. Confession-box sauna.

This the best use for a confession box in my opinion.

Some Catholics may well sweat in the confessional as they admit to things they shouldn't have done. But Vienna's archdiocese has ruled that the box-like structure cannot be turned into a sauna.

Injuries on Croagh Patrick.

If the god that these people believed in did exist,I would think he/she/it would make sure they weren't hurt while on his/her/its "holy" mountain.

RESCUE services were forced to carry an injured pilgrim from near the peak of Croagh Patrick to the base because bad weather conditions had prevented a helicopter from landing.
