Loose Reverie: I Will Never Be a Believer
My earliest memory of church is not a terrible one, necessarily, as there was no physical or sexual abuse, no momentous 'aha!' moment.. no bells and whistles.. nothing worthy of a book writing.. but rather a simple question, on my part, whilst gluing a little paper 'Noah' to a small lunch bag, and the unsavory answer I was given. "Why were there no dinosaurs on the ark?", I'd asked.…

out there in our world
there are brilliant individuals
whose minds are incredible,
awesome & inspiring,
bearing thoughts, ideas &
theories, which many of us
wouldn’t be able to fathom
if the thinker her/himself
sat down at our breakfast table
& spoon fed it to us
like we were good little Gerber
babies.
there are funny wo/men out
there also,

Germany vs. Greece
Today in Europe the Big Thing on TV was the Germany vs. Greece game. Check out the front pages of some European news, bild.de, BBC, lemonde.fr, and you will see it being on top of the sports headlines - and thus people's minds. Admittedly I am no fan of football/soccer, but I do like to watch those games I know is going to be part of…

Did I just have an epiphany?
My wife and I were having dinner in our favorite Mexican restaurant, there was a ballad playing in Spanish, which I neither speak nor understand. Suddenly, I had this vivid memory of being in a bar in rural Mexico and drinking and feeling morose over having lost my one true love! I remembered my life, my love and our relationship. I began crying, because of that loss, and I couldn't explain what the hell was going on. Fortunately my wife was sympathetic and didn't have me committed. Has…

Internet Savior
The truth doesn't become any less true just because it's unpalatable. The people who have made it their business to sell religion have found what is palatable to the masses, and have pandered to them in order to enjoy their financial support. This process of pandering to the tastes and fears of the masses has been constantly modified and refined to accomplish their ultimate goal, which is the domination of society and the suppression of free will;Islam is a good example of this.I believe{with…

The Revolutionary Science of Epigenetics
I believe that epigenetics is the next frontier in the study of genetics, and biology. Wikipedia's definition of epigenetics is a good start, if you're new to the field.
But I'd like to clarify something that might otherwise be confusing people about this new science. The scientific definition of "epigenetics" can vary depending on which aspect the geneticist focuses: Embryonic Development, or Inheritable Traits.…

JOB 2.0: Following the precedence…
His parents hoped his name would predestine him for a successful life of consistent but hard work. Job didn’t disappoint. Job worked hard his entire life and developed a thriving mega farm, situated on roughly 150 acres of very fertile land. Over 700 donkeys (mainly for export to Grand Canyon Tours Limited and Mexican Farmer Exchange Services), 535 yoke of oxen, and around 7121 sheep occupied his expansive stables. The sheep were mainly used for wool, French restaurants, and lonely Montana…

Just a reminder that we're eagerly after your experiences with cancer– are you or a loved one fighting now? have you lost someone? are you or a loved one a survivor?– for our marathon charity drive later this year. We hope to have a selection of your experiences to read on the air. Our goal in this, as I've said, is to keep the focus on the…

RIDING A DINASAUR TO WORK ON A LAZY FRIDAY AFTERNOON
The stegosaurus carefully plodded its way among the rocky countryside. Its passengers, riding uncomfortably on its bony back, were hungry and in need of sleep, so were pushing their giant mount at a fairly quicker pace than usual. Slowly, as the distant horse manger drew near, the stegosaurus came to a stop and its two passengers, one pregnant and the other apparently her husband, gently stepped off.…

Creationists remove evolution from text books. Sound familiar? You would think this is another news story from the good ol USA? Wrong. Turns out South Korea is moving up in the batshitcrazy category as well. Sad news for one of the world's leaders in scientific advancement.
Creationists in South Korea won a campaign to remove evolution from high school textbook
According to Nature.com, a group called the Society for Textbook Revise mounted an effective petition drive…

Dead for 32,000 Years, an Arctic Plant Is Revived
By NICHOLAS WADE
Published: February 20, 2012
Living plants have been generated from the fruit of a little arctic flower, the narrow-leafed campion, that died 32,000 years ago, a team of Russian scientists reports. The fruit was stored by an arctic ground squirrel in its burrow on the tundra…

God is an Atheist
“And if there were a God, I think it very unlikely that he would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt his existence.” Bertrand Russell
“I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours” Richard Dawkins
I was thinking about the qualities God must have. The Abrahamic god…
