What stage are you, oh militancy?

I don't self describe as an atheist.

Because I'm not 'an atheist.'

To assume so would to put far more importance than on what the word is worth.

If I had to pick out a hundred words and list them in the order that described me, there would be plenty higher on that list. First and foremost, I'm a woman. I guess physical biology gets the most credit. Then I guess I'd be a diver, because I spend way more time on dive related activities than I do atheism. Maybe…

The law! (NSFW language)

I am so fucking sick of this argument.

I've been trolling the shit out of Facebook for the last week or so. I can't help it. That's what I do when I have writer's block. I go annoy other people. It makes me feel better. So lately, I've been stirring up hornet;s nests whenever I get the opportunity.

Since I'm not an idiot, I've noticed this predictable progression.

Arguing with Republicans (at least those that I know) is just like arguing with Christians. Maybe that's…

Should radio stations be able to deny your attempt to buy airtime?

Here in the Ozarks I am beset with God & America country music stations and Christian radio broadcasts. I listen to a local oldies channel and without fail there is the ever present commercials to "Come pray with us and visit the Lord at XYZ church." I was wondering what the reaction would be if I called and asked about buying a "spot" to voice my atheistic stance. Could they refuse my request? If so, on what grounds? I mean it would almost be worth the $500 or so bucks to get some…

How I came to be an Atheist

How I came to be an Atheist

By: Kristian Gore

I was never really a Theist so by default I guess you could say I was always an Atheist. My mom never talked about religion when I was young and neither did my step father. I was vaguely aware of the idea of god and some bible stories. Stories like Jonah and the whale, Noah’s Ark and the garden of Eden were known to me but I regarded them as I did the three little pigs and Jack in the bean stalk. It never occurred to me that people… Continue

Profiting on Paranoia - What do you Think?

I saw a CNN story recently (sorry, don't have link for it) that talked about various companies who have begun taking advantage of doomsday believers who happen to have money. The story talked about one segment in particular - the companies building underground bunkers so that when the Apocalypse/End-Times/Doomsday comes they will have a place to live and ride it out.

One of the companies profiled is Vivos. While some companies…

Religious Experience Shrinks Your Brain, a new study finds...

The article, “Religious factors and hippocampal atrophy in late life,” by Amy Owen and colleagues at Duke University represents an important advance in our growing understanding of the relationship between the brain and religion. The study, published March 30 in PLoS One, showed greater… Continue

Is believing in God the same as believing in unicorns?

I see this quite often, that people say that believing in God is the same as believing in unicorns.

Well, it is:

"God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn."

(Numbers 23:22, King James Bible)

Behold the Abrahamic God, with all the masculine strength a unicorn!…

Debating The Muslim preacher.

.@C_Ya_Soon

hi. This is my response to your efforts :-)

So after days of arguments and counter arguments, we get to the point where you want to show me, that your god Allah is the one and only true god.

So you dismiss all the other available scriptures as being corrupted by man, essentially rendering them useless for reference, since the nature and extent of the corruption can not be determined, nor, strangely enough, where these scriptures internally protected against…
