Yet again, I'm proud to be from Connecticut. We have gay marriage and rational judges.
A local public high school attempted to hold graduation in a church recently. A few parents and students sued and the judge declared the high school's actions unconstitutional. Reading the comments section might give you all a kick too. There are a few nut-jobs on there, but they're getting owned by rational thinkers.

My retirement from the military is coming soon. I have been studiously removing all mentions of god from everything that i can, no chaplain (been asked several times in that). I am only trying to keep it as military as possible without the relgious clap trap that is infused with EVERYTHING in our fucking culture.
Which brings me to my point of this blog. I am writting my speech and I have few things that I am writting about. I first off want to bring this…

So, I just finished my first online live debate with a Christian, and I gotta say, it was rather disappointing.
The victim was Youtube's TruthfulChristian. Some of you might know him. He's basically an evolution-bashing Christian creationist. Sort of like venomfangx.
Most of you probably know how excruciatingly painful it is to try to get any new knowledge into a creationist's head, and I actually started to doubt if he was being serious.
We began talking about why he believed in…

As we know for a fact we are a outcome of the process of natural selection, a two part question arises, which I would be interested to get opinions on
1 What is the next core component that is going to lead survival? We know the building blocks that have initiated the evolutionary development but the various complex being that now exist has taken…

The Cosmological Argument is an argument for the existence of god using the Cosmos as evidence. I don’t think these arguments are very convincing but they are one of the strongest arguments for the existence of god due to our lack of understanding about the origins of the Universe, especially when compared to our knowledge of evolution when discussing the Argument from Design.
Humans are answer seeking animals and we often find it more satisfying to have an answer than to not have…

So yesterday I decided to make the twice yearly call I attempt to my parents. We aren't very close, and that's partially because they are right wing, god fearing, gun toting, religious types. That isn't something that people from my family can agree to disagree on. While on the phone with one of my aunts, I was telling her my present woes and she offered to pray for me.
In the background I heard my mom yell. "You shouldn't say that! She's an atheist!"
To which my aunt yelled back,…

I type this entry as I sit on the runway at Boston-Logan Airport, about to take to the sky for a 6 hour journey to San Jose. I will be traversing a distance of almost
2700 miles. If I were to go 600 miles farther, and in a different direction, I
could be in London, my hometown – this is a serious distance I’m about to
travel. Why am I doing it? Because I am attending, with a stalwart group of
Harvard…

Ok I just heard about this story so the details may not be entirely be
accurate but apparently the Republicans decided to create a website so
regular Americans, like me, you, and the Mushroom Kingdom, can send and post
suggestions. The site is called
http://www.americaspeakingout.com
and all you do is post ideas so the Republicans can make their policy
based on your suggestions!
I guess they are trying to be…

How's your trivia skills where quotes from religious leaders are concerned? I just created a new quiz that tries to show how difficult it is to know which fundamentalist said what -- because they all think alike in some very essential ways. Check it out,
here.

The collection of channels including the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, Animal Planet, the History Channel, etc, are quite controversial for their programs. Torn between love and hate, critics criticize the programs on these channels for dumbing down scientific, naturalistic, and historical subjects to the point of absurdity.
My personal take is that they have their place. I am
endlessly fascinated by shows such as "The Universe", "Planet Earth", "Life",…

I pass by anti-choice protesters about everyday on my way to work. I see all kinds of stupid, nonsensical, ignorant signs and I can't help but worry that one day abortion may be illegal again. Seriously scares the shit out of me. I pay $110 every 3 months for my birth control. My insurance doesn't cover the name brand and I am physically unable to take the generic for medical reasons that I don't want to get into. I'm doing my part to try and prevent unwanted pregnancy. If something should…

I have batted this topic around in my head for a couple of years now but when all is said and done I can not help but stick firmly to one side of the argument: Religion and science are extremely incompatible. I strongly feel that to embrace one is to deny the other.

This guy is actually starting a new church. Really? Really?
I guess he doesn't have much of a choice with no marketable skills to make a living doing anything else. Maybe selling meth or becoming a male prostitute, who knows? That would…

From Atheist Climber blog
As a child I was often told I had a vivid imagination, one that was filled with wonder and fantasy, and I loved the stories my parents would read to me. But I learned at a very young age that monsters and leprechauns were not real. While my imagination was allowed to flourish, my inquisitive nature was such that if I wanted to know about something, I was always…

Last week a couple of people from my year got a laminated piece of paper that had a prayer on it.The title was Exam Prayer. It was a prayer to be said to god asking him to help them do good in the junior cert.
If they all get A+ I'm going to be a christian and pray the whole time.Hopefully a year of praying will help me get good results in the leaving cert.

I recently sent an official Declaration of Defection to the Roman Catholic Diocese where I was baptized. Has anyone else ever done this? Did they actually receive a response from the archbishop? Do tell!

I think I'm gonna join a church for a few months and make everyone love
me, then announce I'm actually an atheist (anti theist) and see if their
opinions change.
I wonder what kind of outcome that will be.
I'll
have to make sure I never preach about god, that way it wouldn't be a
lie when they scream deceit.
"I never once said I believed in
your god."
..I'm just here to observe.
hmmmm.
