A narrative essay by – Heather Spoonheim
It has, of late, become impossible to compare or contrast the Abrahamic religions without encountering the theatrics of fear-mongering Islamophobes. Coherent dialogue rapidly becomes a phantom as emotional pleas propel themselves up slippery slopes, launching into nationalistic…

Note: I haven't written anything in a long, long while. I also hate editing. Spelling should be checked, but other errors are likely and I may come back and fix them later or clarify a point if I messed up badly! Just a warning!
If you're reading this, please be prepared for a long (and tangential) musing. I needed to get this down. Knowing your own mind is always a good idea, and writing can be a great way to organize thoughts in a way to see, evaluate, and even change them.…

Dare not to sleep!
I was awakened one morning, by the quaintest of dreams
‘twas like a voice, spoken to me
It sounded afar - like an underground stream,
I rose and said: Why do you call me?
Dare not to slumber! Dare not to sleep!
Dare not believe, it was merely a…

A few of weeks ago I get a tweet from a follower of my journey, @misstcalia inquiring about what I do. Next she blows my mind by offering to donate 50% of her profits from her online business to support the work I am doing. Absolutely amazing things have been happening to me for the last several months and this is sure one of them.
The name of her online store is…

I know I bash this country a lot, but one thing I will say, is that this is a very philanthropic country. As an atheist I want to make sure my money goes to those organization that are secular. So for everyone, I have started this list. Feel free to add to it!
Don't keep the faith.

...and other questions about Noah's flood for the layman. (posted @ atheistdave.wordpress.com)
What did the animals eat? Sure, Noah took two of every species on his ark. As if that's not believable enough, how did all the animals survive? Some animals have a very particular diet:…

Okay... Hello,
I've never posted a blog before, but I recently came across and only diary entry from when I was eighteen and just in between leaving my church life and non church life. I was pretty sure at this point I was a non believer. I didn't call myself an atheist. I didn't even know what an atheist was, but I was one.
This page was provoked by a debate I got into with another youth of the church. It was about words…

A quick search of Google reveals that 2,100,000,000 (2.1 billion English) people are categorised as CHRISTIANS. For simplicity let us ignore 100,000,000 (one hundred million) and just say 2 billion CHRISTIANS.
Every year, 1% of them depart this earth as a consequence of both natural and un-natural causes. Accidents, diseases, childbirth, starvation, suicide, murder, earthquakes, floods, wars and of course, old age. That 1% represents 20 million people…

"Hi Martin Did anyone ever tell you that Jesus loves YOU!"
At first I thought this was a joke from one of my atheist readers, as sometimes we all get a little… ContinueAdded by Martin Pribble on May 30, 2011 at 8:43pm — No Comments
This small denomination of the great web of Christianity is not known of by many people. This is due mostly to the inherent qualities of the religion itself. The men must keep their hair short and keep their faces shaven. The women can not cut their hair, nor wear makeup or jewelry of any kind. They must only wear ankle-length skirts/dresses and cover their arms at least to the elbow at all times. Though they do not have to wear bonnets (one of the only differences between them and…

To put it frankly, we don’t have to be here. Not one of us had any choice in the decision to come to this place, to be born. And yet our sole goal, before all else, is to live as long as we possibly can? Presumably we do this in order to gain something more in the process of living, than that which was formally asserted, prior to our own existence. Procreation, while being a possibility for the majority of our species, is certainly not a necessity---and for that reason,…

Don't think this will be playing in US theaters anytime soon. And you know it's going to be so incredibly cool when being an Atheist is what saves you from the troll. ;)

Welcome to Godly Weather Forecast. Our team of prayer personnel has been in constant contact with God to bring you this week's weather.
God's Wrath season has begun! He is creating a hurricane right now in the Atlantic ocean, ready to send it to the sinners of America. His merciful nature has allowed for 48 hours notice, giving people living on the coast plenty of time to find Jesus and calm God's anger.
In the meantime, the tornadoes in Oklahoma have caused mass destruction,…

A young girl inside of Iran (this happened recently but I do not have exact date) was arrested for "bad hijab" or headscarf and was forced into the car and kicked by the cop as a sign of disrespect that she is "trash" in their minds. We can only hope that this poor sister was also not raped and we can only imagine worse...the brutal Islamic Republic of Terror…
ContinueIn watching a few debates and documentaries concerning athiests such as Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins, I've found some of the athiest responses tend to miss the mark.
For example, there's the small clip of Richard Dawkins answering the question "What if you're wrong?" (link here). While he does make a valid point about your religion being a result of whatever culture and country you grew up in, one aspect…
