underline the bible

When someone writes about the bible, isn't it suppose to be either underlined or in italic since it is a book, going by grammer rules?

A Middle East Trend

In the last week we have had a number new members from all over the Middle East and South East Asia. Many of these members are former Muslims from Islamic countries. I notice this because I and a few of the moderators scan through the new members daily looking for bots whom would post spam. It's how we largely keep the site clean of it. If you ever see it, let us know and we'll boot them quickly.

Quran is NOT a Scientific Document!!

I am not a scientist and don’t claim to be one either, for this could amount to an act of blasphemy (for lack of better word). Nor, is the guy in the video posted below who is callously and vainly attempting to shove religious text into the realm of science. For those who do not know him, his name is Dr. Zakir Naik, a medical doctor who now runs a non-profit organization by the name of Islamic Research Foundation and a free to air TV channel called Peace TV:…

Lack of Communication: A Personal Story

If you were previously a believer in The Almighty, did you ever hear him speak to you?

I never did. At least, I don't think I did.

However, I know a few people to whom God did speak, and I was always envious because God always told them what they should do with their lives. He told them who to marry, which house to buy, and which career path to follow.

I remember, when I was trying real hard to be a good…

"Objectivity vs Subjectivity in debate" from Atheist Climber

From "Atheist Climber" blog,

Rembrandt's "Two Philosophers"

There seems to be a lot of confusion for people on what is a compelling argument, and what is just muddying the waters of debate. So often, when in discussions around the existence of gods, the yeasayer will turn to personal experiences of things… Continue

Food for The Eagle

Food for The Eagle

By Adam Savage of Myth-busters fame

Good evening.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to read my speech from my new iPad.

Yep. I'm not only a humanist, I'm also an early adopter.

I want to start by saying that, to me, any discourse from me about how one can live a moral existence without religion or the church would

sound improperly defensive. That there's an…

ICP's Miracles

I watched the SNL parody on the television of ICP's song Miracles before I was aware of the actual song. After discovering the source of the parody, I was beside myself at how little SNL had to do to parody this. It is so ridiculous, that it is its own parody. But it also worried me in that I know far too many people who not only embrace ignorance, but seem to celebrate it as a virtue.

The religious right is in the mainstream pushing their anti-intellectual and anti-science agenda. I… Continue

Political Emails: A License Required for your House??

Here is the newest political email I have received, although it does not appear to be all that new. But after the failure to block health care reform, this may be getting resurrected as the cause du jour for the crazy right. It has all the classic stamps of lunacy. From spending most of the email establishing outrage before presenting the "facts", to the "BETTER WAKE UP AMERICA" in all caps, to the call to arms at the end reading "This is bad.....real bad....these guys MUST be stopped, stopped… Continue

Per prior blog post: Pat Condell takes on Anjem Choudary

If you're unfamiliar with Anjem (Andy) Choudary, then check out my prior blog post before reading this one. Anjem is every Muslim apologist's nightmare . . . a real piece of work. I first learned of him a day or two ago when Ayaan Hirsi Ali introduced me to him, via FaceBook. Suddenly, I'm running across him everywhere.

I haven't watched any Pat Condell videos for awhile, so I went to YouTube… Continue

It's been awhile, but I've got a juicy one here. Godwin award in only a few messages!

I've gotten rather irate with this one. He thinks dark matter, basically discovered in 1934, is something very recent. Amongst other ignorances. Have fun.

Messages of god on the side walk

So recently as I was walking through my campus I see these writing on the ground saying "If you feel lost look towards god" and all that bull shit. Now I realize that I am on of the few people on this campus that has a problem and feels that there should be a response to this. So I have been trying to think of my own message to put on the side walk. Any ideas?

(some) Religious people are kind of dumb. [nsfw:language]

I just observed the best worst religious bitching I've seen in a long time.

"The government is communist for taking God out of our schools."

Are you serious?

And right behind that person is a handful of about 300 more people screaming "AGREE! AGREE!"

First of all: nobody "took" your god out of anywhere. Isn't he, um, I don't know, supposed to be omnipotent?

Last I checked, I think that meant God could do whatever the fuck he wanted. That means he can be… Continue

YouTube video posted by Sam Harris: Listen to this idiot!

The "clash of civilzations" is often denied by Islamic apologists. It is, in fact, for real.

Here's the FaceBook intro from Ayaan Hirsi Ali:

Hat tip to my friend Sam Harris for posting this video - "British Islamist Anjem Choudary: Freedom and Democracy Are Idols That Must Be Destroyed and Replaced with Obedience to Allah." In my upcoming book Nomad - release date May 18th in the U.S. - I discuss how the power of Dawa – in English, that is the… Continue
