I was born in a muslim country no doubt that i should be a Muslima too. But this cause didn't convince me that there is really a God above us watching every one from Alaska to south africa, the poor he has nothing to do . But still have many reasons to hate religion , i knew that its fake from thinking in a lot of things it didn't need much intelligent it's very clear . I run out of Islam not because scientific reasons that prove islam is just an illusion but for the basis and… Continue

Well I will give this a go and possibly post something of interest or an observation that may give insight to being godless in a place where people for the most part lack the world view and education that should tell them they are delusional. IMHO people of faith in the states have advantages of education , access to and awareness of the world in general outside their borders. This is not the case in the part of Guatemala that I live in. I suppose a comparison could be made to living… Continue

This is the first time i wrote something about my private life in the internet . it's hard for me to describe myself and tell others about the series of pain and humiliation that i have been through during my childhood and as a teenager in a muslim community.
The first thing my parents teach me about being a good human being and be blessed in my life is to believe in God blindly, and Muhamed too and don't doubt on this presence coz if i did… Continue

I work from home and my wife works and goes to college at night. So we usually eat early and I cook dinner more often than not. Last night I kicked on the TV and Oprah was on. It's the channel that has the news station that I can accept so I just get to making dinner with it on in the background. Todd Bridges
is on telling his story that includes drugs and falling from being a TV star to being in a diaper trying to get sober. His cast… Continue

An Open Letter to My Fellow Godless Heathens,
I am really desperate here. I have been called a bigot for speaking out against the Catholic church! If it at all possible I would really appreciate a tweet in support (if you are in agreement of course) of my essay that challenges the Pope and the laity in their handling of the continuing problem of priests raping and molesting young children. My editorial was published in the Wednesday Journal a local newspaper in Oak Park, IL which is… Continue

If you're an atheist who wants to be able to argue intelligently about your unbelief, then it's important to study the arguments the other side is making.
A fairly recent book by Christian apologist, James Spiegel
, called The Making of an Atheist: How Immorality Leads to Unbelief,

I heard "Officer down!" over the radio last night and I hope that I never have to hear it again.
Me and another officer were called to a "man w/ a gun" call last night. I arrived first so I started to get the necessary information and take a report. When my back up arrived, I briefed him on who we were looking for and a vehicle description. At 12:44am he left the incident location to look for the suspect. At 12:46am he found the suspect's vehicle. I immediately left to back him up. (It… Continue

I’m almost half-way through my second reading of the Quran and find myself wondering what it would take to make Westerners understand Islamic ideology. I could explain how Islam is a religious, legal and political framework for life . . . but others have already written books about that. So I decided I’ll just frame the problem of Islam as briefly as I can and let the reader consult the Quran if they doubt me. If this leads to just one person… Continue

So b4 i go and argue this to my dean of students i would like to know your opinion on this. Should students be able to wear an "i love boobies bracelet" in school. Note that i have worn one for a week and not one teacher has said one thing and other students havent made any comments to it. Here is a link to what they look like: http://www.loserkids.com/category-exec/category_id/189

Well, this weekend is my nephews Baptism (which I refuse to attend on principal) and it reminded me of how I defected from the Catholic Church a few month ago. You see, I was raised Catholic and while I know that Baptism is a meaningless ceremony, I also disliked that having my name listed in the Baptismal records still counted me as a member. I was a statistical figure that, while I was no longer a believer, I was being counted in their totals that they use to secure power and influence. I… Continue

I didn't realize just how sheltered I was all these years until I walked away from religion. The shit was a crutch!!! (Excuse the scurrilous language...lol).
It's been over a year now of freethought, and I'm definitely happier now, and I FEEL the freedom!
But EVERYTHING, and when I say everything I mean E- VE- RY- THING , was about God and church before this. I was even taught to ask God what I should wear each day (because "You never know, they'd say, "You… Continue

Instead of sending the updates to our mailboxes why don't you design a way to send them straight to our homepages? This will make access to them more relevant and immediate. Plus it will spare the email.
It'll be much better, something like facebook or twitter. We'd love to follow our friends and have all their feeds collect on our homepages. This way the homepage itself is going to be much more interactive, updated and with better use of the available space.

Many westerners have a romantic view of India and other Hindu countries as the magical land of Maharajas and festivals and colour and ancient castles where Hinduism flourished. A strong association with Yoga and healthy eating also goes a long way in ensuring Hinduism as a religion (or a way of life as it is advertised these days) of joy, harmony and kinship with nature.
But it is a religion nonetheless and since the number of Hindus around the world is increasing with India becoming… Continue

Mr. Sommerville was one of my high school teachers. I took his philosophy class, and even though I got a D, I felt that was one of the most influential classes I'd ever taken, aside from drama & food studies.
He had mentioned that he was an atheist in our first class. I couldn't picture an atheist before him, so when I think of the first one, he comes to mind.
My only real debate with him was when he said "Oh my god" or "good god", using god… Continue
