Communication Via Text is Like Having A Conversation with God

Before I start, I want to let it be known that they are a lot of stimuli where I'm writing this.  It's easily distracting and my premises may not be as well-thought out as I would like.

Now, to give a back story on the actual topic... I'm a serial online dater.  The first step after talking via messages or e-mails is to get a phone number.  In this day and age, a phone number is for texting and you need extra permission before actually talking on the phone.  Well, you could wing it,…

Stephen Fry on why the Catholic church is not a force for good, 2009

This is from 2009, so many have probably seen it. A pretty good speech by actor Stephen Fry (who will appear in the next Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes movie) against the current state of the Catholic religion/nation.  Soon I will see Stephen Fry accept an award in Harvard Square.…

I fear for our progress as Americans.

I fear for our progress as Americans. Even though we believe that once a civil right's victory has been accomplished we will never look back, the sad truth of it is that countries can devolve.

Look at Iran. True, it was never exactly a shinning beacon of hope and equality for anyone, but before their revolution, there were a lot more clits around.

I'm not even kidding.

Sexual mutilation INCREASED after the people "got their voice." So did the average beard length, the…

Philosophical reasons

Last time I wrote a blog I wrote about the life experiences that led me to being an atheist. Now about philosophical reason why I became an atheist.

Some of us had life experiences that led us to where we are, but I think all of you had a long thought about the veracity of your claim  that there is no supernatural. Some of you didn't. I was one of those people who did believe a little because my parents were agnostic. So I became by simple influence an agnostic. My parents believed in…

Carlin's Brilliance

When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he…

Seizure of individuals

Why is it human tendency to seizure and attach certain individuals to certain doctrines and beliefs? Be they evil men who we want to increase our distance from or extraordinary people we can feel proud to associate with?

We remove their individualistic identity and especially after they have passed on where they can no longer voice their opinion. We attach them with the label he was christian, no he was atheist. Why would it matter? The individual aspect of that persons…

Church Bulletin Bloopers

These are probably bogus, but they are funny nonetheless. Supposedly, all of these statements appeared in real church bulletins or were announced during a service.

The Fasting & Prayer Conference …

Ann Coulter Should Take Her Own Advice

While discussing the individual mandate in the new health care reform, Ann Coulter claimed that not only is the mandate unconstitutional but Republicans should come out and impose a mandate that all citizens should be forced to buy a gun and a bible and that "there's a lot more evidence that owning a gun and a Bible is better for society than owning health Insurance."

Where to start...

Ok, first off, no.…
