Why You Should Celebrate Your Mistakes

When you make a mistake, big or small, cherish it like it’s the most precious thing in the world. Because in some ways, it is.

Most of us feel bad when we make mistakes, beat ourselves up about it, feel like failures, get mad at ourselves.

And that’s only natural: most of us have been taught from a young age that mistakes are bad, that we should try to avoid mistakes. We’ve been scolded when we make mistakes — at home,… Continue

Death

Conservation, Laws of Physical -laws stating that some property of a closed system is unaltered by change in the system; it is conserved. The most important are the laws of conservation of matter and energy. Mass and energy are interconvertible according to the equation E = mc2; what is conserved is the total mass and its equivalent in energy.

((Matter/Energy cannot be lost or destroyed. It is simply converted)

My Government Has Failed Me

This came up in chat the other day and I wanted to add a couple things.

Oh, and before you both replying with "it's not that easy", I'll go ahead and tell you that I know it's not this easy. This is my argument for an ideal world. We don't live in that place yet; so, just let me bitch and complain about it... thanks.

It started with me accusing Obama of being "like the rest of them".

I'll go ahead and clear up a couple things. I know Obama has only been in office for… Continue

The Journey (my first blog, not a sappy love song band)

This isn't my first blog...and it probably won't be my last.

I admit that I've had dalliances in other places. There was even a long term affair with myspace, but as my life progressed past what I wanted family members to browse, the entries there became less and less sincere.

There is an anonymity to the internet. A sense of honesty that can be scrutinized by a thousand people (and as long as none of them are blood related, it's perfectly free.) There isn't much of a chance of… Continue

God must have been bored...or an asshole.

So, like usual on my downtime, I was Stumbling about the internet, and I came across this article. It talks about some Muslims in Britain that want to include certain religious laws in with British Law. In it, the author lists some of these Muslim laws. Some are pretty common sense, but others...

* you should lie on your right when sleeping;

* you should sit down to eat.

Ok, so I know the focus of the… Continue

"What if you're wrong?"

Eating Crow When and if you get into a civilized discussion with a theist, this question seldom fails to arise sooner or later: "What if you're wrong?"

This question always makes be smirk because of the condescending tone that usually accompanies the question; which to me implies “I know I’m right and you’re wrong.”

So how do you handle this question?

My answer (more-or-less):… Continue

Some questions I personally have that turned me from Christianity

In my previous post, I mentioned my issues regarding Jesus being "the way" and all the people who live(d) in countries where the Christian message is not heard. Here are some others:

1. If God created us in his image, and he is perfect, why are there so many genetic disorders?

2. We would generally consider a person who needed to be "praised" (beyond normal gratitude) as an egomaniac. If it's a personality flaw in a human being, why is it perfection in a supreme… Continue

i found this somewhere, its hilarious.

10. No one will kill you for not drinking Beer.

9. Beer doesn't tell you how to have sex.

8. Beer has never caused a major war.

7. They don't force Beer on minors who can't think for themselves.

6. When you have Beer, you don't knock on people's doors trying to make them drink it.

5. Nobody's ever been burned at the stake, hanged, or tortured… Continue

Think Atheist has made me a true atheist I am truely Free!

Well, I did it. I really did it! I told my parents that I am atheist. As some of you have known that I was deathly afraid of coming out to my parents about atheism. When I joined the site I was was acting like a child and being generally dumb but this was because I was lying to myself. This site threw me over the edge. But the problem in my head is that I can not be a atheist until I tell my family because I do not like to lie to people.… Continue

finally able to express my feelings..

I've always been afraid to voice out my opinions on religion and how i find them revolting and the people are barbarians, because im living in indonesia where it is a religion country and everyone has to own a religion no matter what. if they dun, they are considered a communist, and out of this country or get arrested. im especially afraid to share my feelings about the muslims (because the majority here is muslims). my friends are mostly christian fanatics who keep bothering me to go to… Continue

The Misconception of Doubt

I am a Skeptic. I give myself the label as proudly as one would if they were to call themselves a Saint or a Celebrity.

I doubt.

I will never stop doubting, either. Doubting has been given a rather bad rap over the course of history, but it is the stuff revolutions and emancipations are made of. Do I really need to elaborate on the ways in which doubt has been the savior of humans and humankind? Unfortunately, I think I do.

For starters, I think I shall rename… Continue
