doubt god's communication? Doubting communication means you still believe in god, but doubts if he ever talks. I don't believe in a god at all, it's nonexistent. It's imaginary. it was a primitive invention 6,000-4,000 years ago. A strong Atheist is not someone who disbelieve because of an unanswered prayer, it's someone who's pretty damn sure, through logic, science and reason, that god is highly unlikely to exist.

Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear —Thomas Jefferson

California’s Proposition 19 and the Legalization of Marijuana

Posted on November 8, 2010 at 1:00am 2 Comments

Proposition 19 was the “Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010”. The summary of the proposition is to allow Marijuana be decriminalized and available for personal use. The proposition actually failed in California during the voting process in November 2010, as to much surprise of its supporters.

The reasons of its failure to pass could have been the rationale of the majority. I know some supporters of the Act have arguments on why it should pass, but we need to put… Continue

Is religion the Cause why we are good?

Posted on September 16, 2010 at 4:54pm 4 Comments

I have few other articles that I need to complete and publish, but I want to skip them over for a while to answer an important point that a pious christian is trying to ask me via the Amazon Book review I made for, "The god Delusion", a book by R. Dawkins.

Prelude

Are people good only because they strictly follow a Religion? This was the topic of chapter Six of Dawkins', “The god Delusion”, which he titled exactly, “The Roots of…

"Kissing Hank's Ass" by James Huber (A duplicate post)

This is a comical parallelism of how religious devotees spread their faith onto other people. Read and have a laugh. There are apparently videos made out of this story in YouTube.com as well.

This morning there was a knock at my door. When I answered the door I found a well-groomed, nicely dressed couple. The man spoke first.

John: “Hi! I’m John, and this is Mary.”

Mary: “Hi! We’re here to invite… Continue

The god-overrating Principle

This is a further response after watching a video posted here earlier about this kid was seemingly being fooled around that Jesus made a lightning appear.

Kids of the religious are seem to be unlucky these days. If they’re not being molested by pedophile pastors, or getting married at the age of 13 to their 50+ year old religious founder… The adults are embedding these superstitious practices…

Here is the info about the holiday celebrating the defeat of the Sadducees:

28 Tebet - (81 BCE) - Sadducees ejected from Sanhedrin

Shimon ben Shetach successfully completed the expulsion of the Sadducees (a sect which denied the Oral Torah and the authority of the Sages) who had dominated the Sanhedrin (supreme court), and replaced them with his Mishnah (loyal Pharisaic disciples), on the 28th of Tebet of the Hebrew year 3680 (81 BCE).

"Okay, I was going to ask if you're an atheist OR a believer"

I'm an atheist trying to educate myself about a faith that my family fed me without knowing it's meaning.

I've been to church my whole childhood but never really cared..it all seemed so fake to me. As I got older, I figured I should probably learn what I thought was so fake...and I'm still an atheist. lol

I find that the more I learn about different beliefs, the more I know for certain how I really feel.

Although I am technically studying it, my Latin is still little more than guess-based! ;)

I just started Latin this semester and I was playing around with my limited vocabulary. I was trying to say something to the effect of, "What should we think when the lives of evil men prosper?" But it's quite likely that I mixed up cases and completely derailed my intent, lol! :)

"as for your last paragraph... I don't get it. :( "

In that paragraph I was referring to the first couple of books in the old testament. Esp. Numbers.

It describes how God told Moses to pick certain people out of his tribe to be priests, warriors, etc. these were Jews...I mean, they lived in Israel and they practiced Jewish traditions. and like you said the old testament is basically the Torah.

I'm just a little confused as to how Christians are not Jewish..I know where they get their traditions from....hell everything comes from Paganism in this religion.

if the bible is their holy book...why is it pretty much the Torah with Jesus contradicting it?

my point was, if they were doing it wrong....why did God say they were doing it right? lol
