- When i was a kid around 6, my parents took me to church for the first time. I was introduced to sunday school and i was given a kid's version of the bible with the pretty pictures and all. I was happy, i felt like i was part a cool group and the church looked impressive and the stories captivated my attention. i love reading, so when i got home i quickly read through the bible. Granted it was a child's bible full of pictures but i really read it all. But when my parents tried to explain to me that all that happen and heaven was real and so forth, i told them it was ridiculous. They were shocked at first but i asked to explain how in heaven all these animals could live together? i pointed at lions next to deer. They kindly explained to me, well in heaven you don't need to eat you're never hungry. Well how is that heaven i like eating, where am i going to get my happy meals? (I'm a kid but i know where meat comes from, maybe not the mcdonalds ones but in general.) I know we discussed more but keeping this brief. I convinced them not to take me to church anymore, i enjoyed reading about greek gods and the sort from my social studies books from school. Which they couldn't explain to me why i couldn't believe in those instead cause they seemed so much cooler, did they die, were they not real, did they fight with our god and lost? Nope my parents were bad religious people thankfully, and let me not attend church instead.
I had found atheism and i liked it, until of course they found out at school. I remember one day i'm in like 3rd grade, during recess. A bunch of my classmates were fighting, the boys of the class (of course boys) had split up into two groups and had started really just beating the shit out of each other. So i tried to steer clear of all that mess, but it went on for several days. Eventually because my friends were a part of it i was pulled into it, and they asked me if i was christian or catholic? I hesitated and then asked why? I had figured it out but they told me anyhow, the christians and the catholics were fighting each other. Why? i asked. Because they're stupid and wrong, which side are you on what are you. Uhm i don't believe in god, i managed 2 things that day. I made peace between both bands and they stopped fighting each other agreeing it was stupid.
Number 2, i learned not to tell people i'm atheist because they ganged up against me and the rest of primary school sucked. In secondary school i tried to start a new slate but i also wanted to be part of a cool group. So i became a "satanist", not really but it was preferable than admitting to being an atheist. To my surprise not only did i make friends that thought it was cool, teachers, adults and my parents thought it was fine. Hoping or thinking it was just a phase i'd grow out of. But at least i believe in god, because you can't be a satanist if you don't believe in god you're just misguided. As an adult now i'm still cautious to who i admit this to, and that pisses me off.

human nature (a message to everyone)

God seems to be the only reason people claim to be socially loving and caring, without god do we really revert to lonesome creatures?
I don't think it's in human nature to be individually separated from everyone, the way churches do and claim otherwise. uniting few and only separating them from the world. But even if the argument was made that men have moved forward through centuries of social stigmas and hundreds of religions. From a "barbaric" alpha dominated, kill or be killed…

Why is it human tendency to seizure and attach certain individuals to certain doctrines and beliefs? Be they evil men who we want to increase our distance from or extraordinary people we can feel proud to associate with?
We remove their individualistic identity and especially after they have passed on where they can no longer voice their opinion. We attach them with the label he was christian, no he was atheist. Why would it matter? The individual aspect of that persons…
