Are Atheists right?

Several centuries ago, despite the widely held view by billions of people that the world was flat, Galileo believed it was round and was persecuted. It has been established the world is round, vindicating the loner,Galileo.Today billions of people believe in religion while atheists, who are in the minority, hold contrary view. The question is would atheist be proven right one day?
