Though I express my views freely in my art, the daily fact of my atheism is fairly quiet – except where public policy and intolerance are concerned! I have a lot of patience for those who believe in a god, as I was a believer for a long time. But my patience only goes so far.
Why are you here?
To meet and converse with fellow freethinkers.
The religion you left
Christian, Buddhism, Judaism
Why you left your religion.
I was raised a Baptist/Nondenominational Christian, but was born with both an artistic and scientific mindset. Jesus was a Jew, which naturally led me to explore Judaism. The Jewish Renewal movement led me toward interfaith dialogue, which led me to Buddhism. Buddhism led me to the spiritual humanism of Gandhi, which led me to secular humanism, which eventually led me to Atheism. A wild ride, but a fun one.

I visited Greenville for a company holiday party in '99. (spouse's corporate office is there and they flew all employees to the party) It sucked that the bar we started at turned on the lights at 11pm to kick everyone out. I vaguely remember tiny bottles of liquor, and moving on to a club that was still open. I'm certain we didn't actually stop drinking when the clock struck 11. What a suppressed town. You're in the thick of it!
Hi Kevin! Nice to meet you. :) I wish I could flee Brandon, that's for sure! My heart is in the mountains. Congrats on your new project! I didn't even reach the end of your comment and I immediately envisioned the restaurant scene in Pulp Fiction-either one. (Not to mention countless other scenes in QT's films where sordid characters get deep. lol. I love it!!!) Very cool! My husband, kids and I only talk to one another in QT film references. :P
I just release the official announcement of the film festival. The Tampa Theatre is the venue. How great is that?! It's my church. (figuratively, of course)
