Why you left your religion.
I never believed in the theistic aspects of it although I still love the things of value like the Sermon on the Mount. I have always found the intellectual constraints of dogma to be merely laughable if they weren't so deadly Also, as a bisexual man there really isn't any place in it for me.

So lets see if I can come up with a conception of God that will irritate the hell out of everyone. OK. Assuming God exists what do I think It/Him/She/They is/are? I think that God is the 99%. By that I mean the 99% of you that is actually running your body and mind right up from creating new red blood cells to most of your "higher" brain functions. This is an interesting point. I was raised Roman Catholic and went to Catholic schools right up until college. Religion is a community builder, I'll give it that. We knew who we were, why we were, and where we were and there was no questioning any of these things. I think that is a good place to start for way more children than not given the gargantuan uncertainties built into the world of even the most secure child.
