- I need something to do with my time besides play guitar and study, and that's very difficult when you live in one of the most Christian counties in California.

- I never really left anything. My parents were both raised generically Christian, but we never went to church. I asked my mother about this years ago, and she said something pretty profound, "How Christian would I be if I forced you to believe in something for no reason? You're allowed to find your own answers."
So I did.
