Your Religious Status
Why are you here?
Although I don't believe in being aggressive with any dogma, be it theist or atheist, I do believe that we nonbelievers should stand up and demand the division of church and state we are promised.
The religion you left
Why you left your religion.
As a former professional musician I worked for many different churches providing music for many different services worship, youth etc. One program that I truly believed in was a program called "Celebrate Recovery" which was a church based 12 step program for drugs, alcohol and other habits. Long story made short, being on the inside of these churches and seeing how they operate and the way the leaders act away from the eyes of the general public disgusted me. The Celebrate Recovery program was a joke and its only aim was getting government subsidy money for the church thanks to GW Bush's religious institution policy. I saw people drop out after going through the program and no one ever called or checked up on these people. In fact most of the regular church members didn't want the program because they didn't want addicts and alcoholics in their church. Many of the people in the program would return to whatever they were in to and no one cared to even call or check up on them except a few people like myself. If these people are gods children as the bible calls them then then he is an absent father and I want no part of them.
